clear

within themselves
and
her inner life became
a perfect day

Baby Dashiel

I received a Christmas card with a photo of this darling baby boy
on it

before I knew it I was sketching away.

of course his cap was a solid tan color

I could not help but add our beautiful world to it
~
Usually I do not attempt to draw real people.
I enjoyed giving it a try.
I think I made him look a bit older....
~

Monday, I will announce the DC theme for the weekend of January 18th-19
which I will be hosting

The Unfolding of a Drawing

first there is a feeling
an idea
an inner image
sometimes the shape of a face
the width of her eyes
or perhaps the thought of a walking stick

then a sketch begins to come to life

another wanderer
with her walking stick
protective hat
and energy auras that travel with her
offering insight
wisdom
and kinship
she walks in the ways of the elders
~
(sorry the final image is blurry)

recently,
asked if any of her readers would like a cloth bookmark
made by her

yes, i said
look what arrived in the mail:

it looks even more wonderful in person!
my tai chi teacher once gave me feedback:
look up

Thank you Annie!

Wish You Happiness

within his mind
mostly one thought
to wish you
and you
and you
happiness
in the deepest sense
on a soul level
within the air you breath
the thoughts that rise
the way you walk
and dance
and talk
and all he did
was to imbue:
wish you happiness
in you
and you
and you

Young Lass

she is a young lass

a pleasant look on all of life

She

it is not by her ears or wings that we know
it is in her spirit that tells us
she is of another realm
~

this piece has been quite hard to photograph accurately
the eye detail above is a little darker than the original
the other two pieces are a bit lighter

layers
and layers
of pencil and markets
were used to create her face
this is a fairly large piece
with hair 10"x22"

Elfin Light

it's the light that caught her eye
not the wildly fun fungi scattered in the forest
for they were her friends and she knew they were there
but the light
it called her name
whispering of the magic that ran in her veins
~

there is a lot of metallic paint in this piece
photos rarely show this fact...
