Drawing Faces....

last week i created a painting

and the gal had flowers for hair

seems tonight I needed to draw more flowers...

I had glued tissue paper down in a lavender color,

later

looking at the page I saw this woman in the edges of the torn tissue

'she rose from the edges'

Lake Garda, Italia

The colors of Lake Garda constantly change

sometimes a silvery blue

sometimes aqua green

this morning laying beneath cloud cover

i found the lake a mellow brown

one day

the wind stirred the water in a mighty way

waves so large Garda looked like a sea

the mutable nature of water

exquisite to behold

Autumn Equinox ~

we enter a new season

still magically full of critters

ladybugs

dragonflies

on and on

days are warm

nights are crisp cold

the colors of the world shift and move

like a beautiful dance

the path of summer has mingled with this new season for weeks

today we enter Autumn

~

wishing you all a season be it Autumn here

Spring there

a season that feels good to you

Happy Equinox!

Nine Faces Emerge

opening to the hidden faces

rising from the textured background of these pages

i feel intrigue

a bit of surprise

included is delight

~

if you read my last post:

i took a Moleskine Art Journal to Italy

was greatly disappointed in the quality of the pages

yet the pages i had prepared with gesso

held up fine to water techniques, like the one above

also I am sharing two frescoes I photographed in Italy:

and:

Feather Clan

the other day
at a farmer's market
i saw a little old man
perhaps 90 years of age and more
carrying two long feathers
so much taller than him
immediately i began this sketch
perhaps in another he was an elf

Enjoy each day

leap with joy

delight in treasures throughout the land

she hears the music in the air

amongst fungi folk

with the beautiful flowers

the tall mighty trees

as well as the bees

happy lammas to all those in summer

happy imbolc to those in winter

Elfin Light

it's the light that caught her eye
not the wildly fun fungi scattered in the forest
for they were her friends and she knew they were there
but the light
it called her name
whispering of the magic that ran in her veins

~

there is a lot of metallic paint in this piece
photos rarely show this fact...

even the pixie fell under the spell

if it weren't for the roses in her dream

that called to the

they might have slept forever

Two Faces

charmed

by the wee fairy

juggling spheres of magic berries in her hand

not only did she watch

with her heart she did listen

for tales of once upon a time

spilled forth

with the mesmerizing spinning

and

tossing of each berry as it danced into the air
