from another realm

to deliver a message for her spirit only

with silent lips

rising from the textured background of these pages

i feel intrigue

a bit of surprise

~

if you read my last post:

i took a Moleskine Art Journal to Italy

was greatly disappointed in the quality of the pages

yet the pages i had prepared with gesso

held up fine to water techniques, like the one above

also I am sharing two frescoes I photographed in Italy:

Watercolor Pencil and Gesso

recently, my dear friend Abigail taught me to use a Stabilo Aquarellable pencil

to sketch with and then take gesso to it to transform it into paint, much like one would take a wet brush

to a watercolor pencil.

I believe she learned it from Misty Mawn.

This technique was quite challenging for me,

 yet I have been hooked!

I have a wee moleskine 3.5"x5.5" journal and have been creating faces every chance I get with this technique.

Somehow i think it brings a new spirit to my art. I love this about new techniques!

see the sketch on the right:

then i work the lines with gesso:

something about one color, golden

and then the white gesso that is interesting to me:

i think this is my favorite, sorry the scan is a little blurry:

thank you for your visit

i so enjoy your company

Knowing Heart for Sunday Sketches

there is a natural knowing

in the heart of a mother

to let love live

in her children

love is passed on to her children

lives on

in their blood

in their heart

through the knowing

heart of a mother

 ~

I wish everyone a lovely Mother's Day

for everyone

has a mother

I bought some Lyra 'skin tone' pencils.

I love how different choices of color

are inspiring in new ways.

&

I must share with you a mother that I saw in the wilds of Montana last week:

HUGE TREE

Tall Tree

Black bear mama denning in this tree with her two cubs:

Mama, where are you going?

I think I will follow you:

the little bear did not follow, but any day now.

Angel Blue

look into my eyes
feel into your heart

planted there is all you need
for every moment that you breathe
remember
always
~

hello
i want to share
that as i drew
then painted angel blue
i felt like she was telling me things:
to have courage to honor my dreams
to fly with my highest truth
to find my courage and let it guide each breath
she holds a unwavering gaze
penetrating until we hear what she has to say

perhaps she has a message for you?

do your paintings have spirits
that speak to you?

She Says

fly to the light
she says

sun light
star light
inner light

let it fill each cell
of your body

bathe in it's glory

then exhale this light
with every breath
into our lovely world

nourish and be nourished
in this intimate exchange
with light
~

Our days have been gray and rainy

funny thing, no sunlight

so I had to scan this and you can not tell that it is shimmery paint

Born as Two, Spirit of One

 in her spirit
lives a wolf
keenly in tune
with the tapestry of life
willing to share
with those experiencing strife
they
born as two
yet spirit of one
sharing silver hearts
as they wander wild parts
of our land

so fun to see!

Listening ~

 listening to the spirit
that lies beneath

allowing it's languid and lively presence
to permeate awareness
as well as stance

grace rises
within each breath

each step becoming vital

a true place to allow life
to rise from

abiding in a heart of tender knowing

deep peace

Earth Angel

earth angels mingle in the flesh of our land
permeating the soil with a spirit
in which we find clan
hovering as well in our auras to embed
a reminder that we too are one with the land
