As we enter summer
Earth is lush green, overflowing with leaves, even some mushrooms
Sky a mix of soft blue, white clouds and gray clouds ready to sprinkle rain down upon us.
Lovely solstice to you whether it be summer or winter.

Summer Solstice

 

Summer Solstice:

for 6 months the light of each day grew longer

inspiring the growth of all

 in her land

flowers, trees, fungi, animals and insects

as we

enter the season of summer

fresh food will be plenty

new flowers will grow

nature thrives

days begin to shorten

in her land 

it is a time to be outside

exploring

and

sharing with loved ones 

finding awe in the glory of the world

Summer Solstice!

Summer for me 

is a season to wander mountain roads

to do things that i begin to long for in the snowy months

deep seasons are like that

they each hold their unique activities

 

 

i still find it strange

that with the beginning of summer

the days begin to get shorter 

and 

nights longer

~

Sweet and blessed Solstice to You all!

time is here

time of bears and tiny deer

flowers cloak our forest floors

elves and crystals

treasures galore

~

inspired by a recent hike:

a bear that walked in front of me:

a newborn fawn in our woods:

 and my beautiful niece

we live in an area with deep seasons

NW Montana, USA

times like solstice are quite meaningful

and obvious

our days are long and nights are short

the earth is lush green

flowers galore

life comes alive with sunshine and rain

Divine Journey

there is joy
in artful creative expression
a bit like the seasons of Spring
and now Summer
breathing life into a drawing
an idea
a movement
is to join forces with something alive
dancing
with the current of breath
~

this is my first multi-media piece, stamps- both rubber and postal,
adhering bits of napkins,
(thanks to Sharon Tomlinson's napkin tutorial)
also paint and colored pencils
all this in my moleskin journal

it was a bit scary to take the face in the top drawing and start doing things that are new to me
all that tender attention to shading with colored pencils could disappear with the stroke of a brush
instead it was fun
and inspired me to explore this ladies spirit
to feel into her divine journey

today is the first day of Summer
