Ah, it feel so good to paint

after a very long break. 

Looking at this piece, offers me, the actual feeling

as though I were sharing energy with a spirit friend.

Promise of Spring

more than a promise of spring

in her wee terrarium

all winter long

with love and protection

she holds

the first sprout 

for the birth of spring

DC: sixes and sevens & 29 Faces

 

when her feelings and life were in 

disarray

chaotic and confused

she would wrap her hearts wings around her

bathing in their healing way

letting the troubles melt away

finding her way back

to the center of her vitality

and 

peace

spent a lot of time this week 

attempting to understand our DC,

sixes and sevens

thought of lost things, such as keys and glasses,

too much to do

etc.

then this idea rose out of real life

and took hold

Stone Cloud

I went away this week

Up the North Fork to Polebridge

stayed in a cabin named Stone Cloud

the name of this beautiful and wild land inspired this painting:

while in Stone Cloud

the mountains became her wings

~

today is the last day of February

which is the last day of Alaya's 29 Faces!

To Color This or Not....

she adores spying mushrooms

fruiting from the forest floor

as an ink drawing i am happy at this point

but now

do i color it

or leave it as it is?

She Leaps (fillip)

leaping with spring

enlivens one's spirit

~

I wanted to join a new (to me) group of artists

the prompt is: Fillip

there are many meanings:

enliven, flip, excites, stimulates

flick, spur,  and so on....

I was going to draw a fairy flipping through the air

but when i sat to draw.... 

it was as if the fairy played a joke on me,

I totally forgot my original idea!

you see there just is no controlling what a fairy wants to do!

if she must leap, then leap she must ;-)

but i can play and flip the art ;-)

in a quiet converstation

she learned that humans need to care

for honey bees

 tis essential to all life

Spirit of Bear and Woman

heartfelt

she walked this world

melded with seasons

her ways were natural

spirit and flesh of bear and woman

last year i had the honor of photographing

a grizzly bear in our neighborhood:

such wonderful markings under it's eyes

such a beautiful fur coat
and

such long nails!

 I made this piece on Yupo paper
it is synthetic and slippery

i started with alcohol markers but was not pleased and switched to watercolors,
layer after layer of paint

I wanted to be free and loose about my piece last night

cat fairy came to life

i used Caran d'Ache aquarelle crayons

then a wet brush

to inhale her beauty

Like an Amazon, this Woman

she stood tall in her slinky legs
with golden light shining forth from her inner eye
friend to those who flutter by
sharing the glistening of their wings
hers was a slightly different planet
than the one that we call home
yet heart and light
shine just as bright
as the loving ones we know
~

please bare with me while i learn to draw full bodies.

though my art is a bit naive in nature, i have to say I am having a blast. 

i am so happy to take step after step in learning to express myself through art, and full bodies is a great next step for me.
