Meditative

Do you ever need to do something meditative?

Something that brings you present, so that your mind goes nowhere else?

I love things that bring me present.

Photography, cooking, art all support being present.

These layers of mountains were meditative.

So thankful to know what medicine to choose,

a walk in the forest, xc ski through the meadow, focusing on my breathing

and/or

painting.

Wishing you calm and peace when your spirit needs it.

Inktober #1

It is that time of year, Inktober.

An ink drawing a day is done by artists all over the world.

I will be happy if I do one a week, but maybe I will get into more of an art groove and surprise myself.

It felt so good to do art again.
The gaps between pieces are too big for my liking ;-)

Here we have a little yogini,
doing her blissful thing in nature.

Wee Fae

on her walk

a wee fae caught her attention

she always knew the folk existed

today, the little fairy

revealed herself

with a bouquet of flowers

Our Magical World

A landscape I would love to wander into.
~
*

I would like to send this off to one of you, the original.

If you would enjoy it tacked to your wall, let me know in a comment. I will randomly choose someone on October 13th.
Just say: me please.... or something like that in your comment.

(Nearly 5x7 inch. It does have a tiny bend in the bottom corner).

Also, it is also open to people on IG and FB.

100 Day Project

Hi Blog friends,
I have decided to do:
The 100 Day Project

I wanted to challenge myself to get back into doing regular art.
Even if it is just ten minutes a day.
I know that once I do ten minutes, there is a good chance it will last much longer.
Ten minutes seems enticing, do-able too.

I won't post every day, or at least I doubt I will.
This drawing is my start, next is to paint it.
It is in a small sketch book.

There is also a poem I wrote about fairies that I want to illustrate and have for sale during this 100 days.
Part of me telling you, is to say it out loud, to help hold myself to this challenge.

Are you doing this challenge?
If so, what will you be doing?
Photography, cooking, writing, working out, art?

Seems like a good time, while so many of us are home.
I hope this finds you well and wish you moments in all your days that make you smile.

New Paper

recently Lynne Hoppe shared a watercolor paper
made in Italy
100% cotton
that is new to me

I like it
soft and feels very cottony
took the paint wonderfully

(but roughs up if one needs to erase pencil lines,
so I will attempt to not need to erase ;-))

(I am not sure what I think of this little landscape)
a glimpse of how I organized my paint samples
so handy

Tree Elf

glancing outside
I spied
an
elf boy at the base of a tree

reached for my binoculars.....
but he wasn't there
~

maybe the tree bent down and picked him up

taking ones eyes away to reach for a camera or binoculars
is always to take risk of missing out on the sighting
~
still, it was a joy to see him

she was part of the seasons
