Resting calm

 

Up on the blue mushroom she attracted a blue bird. 

As the sun set, the horizon turned a soft blue too. 

Flower buds folded their petals and lay their lovely heads to sleep for the night. 

All hearts in the land began to find a resting calm.

Opening his heart to the permeation of birdsong

He came under the spell of the charms
Charms dangling within the branches of leaves

Summer Swim

it has been such a lovely 

and hot summer

perfect for swimming in Montana's beautiful lakes

immediately cooled

to enjoy the heat of the day

this is my first attempt of portraying someone in water

a fun challenge

that will require more practice ;-)

Sage & Sepia

the magical realm of summer 

of nature

a glimpse

~

first i painted the page a light sage green

let it dry

drew a border in sepia ink, with a dip pen

drew the picture with masking fluid

let it dry

painted over the mask with a light wash of the sepia ink

then peeled the mask away

~

the two little hummingbirds are growing up

eyes still closed

and look the photo is in sage and sepia colors:
