Daily Book or Evening Sketches

recently i was considering

: daily sketchbooks

i have called these drawings: evening sketches

but have not done them daily

so i pulled out a sketchbook Marta gave me 4 years ago.

Some might reflect my life, as a written journal might. 

Though maybe not......

snowflakes have been falling and the lady above is wearing mittens....

Calling for next weekends DC: Threshold

I enjoy considering thresholds

stepping from my door to the outside world

from my car to the outside world

from one breath to the next

from one season to another

i find being aware of that place

the place between

 

that pause

the crossing 

from one place to another

brings me present

to the magic in the mundane

I took this portrait of a snowflake today,

it is so beautiful!

Evidence that we have crossed the threshold of autumn

into winter!

Winter Fairy and DC Challenge

The winter fairy showed up in my painting

and rightly so!

winter has arrived in our neck of the woods

it is here for the season!

I looked around my wee cabin,

found every window cloaked as a garland

totem art

trinkets of beauty

do you see the snowy realm outside of the windows

like marshmallow cream, everywhere!

D.C. Tattoo

years and years ago

in a night's dream

someone said: let me touch up your tattoo

i said: what tattoo?

she pointed to my torso

i lifted my top to find flowers and leaves

much like the painting above

but 

they were alive and moving as well!

I loved it

funny thing is, that i have never wanted a tattoo

perhaps all my freckles 

are enough body art for me
