Flourish of Gold Velvet

this week it was time

to make a curtain for my bedroom window

it was fun to see it come to life

just like my drawings do

first a gorgeous velvet skirt i rarely wear for the fabric

later this handmade elephant ribbon i have carried around for at least 15 years

then the drawn up gathers

accents of quartz crystal and freshwater pearls between each wave

like a dance it came together

also

i went berry picking in the forest:

raspberries

and

huckleberries

yum!

what have you been up to?

Happy Birthday Wyndi!

My beautiful sister Wyndi asked me to paint a family portrait

for her birthday, she envisioned this scene.

Happy Birthday Wyndi!

wishing you a new year full of days and nights that feel wonderful to you!

also

have you noticed the wee cabin photo on my sidebar?

that is home sweet home

it is time to change the window trim color

if you notice on the porch the old trim

brown and blue

today

i painted one window with merlot and mauving up

what do you think?

I think i will live with it for a while and see if it makes me smile

or shake my head

Montana Summer

this piece came to life

due to summer storms

in the past month i have experienced two trees

being hit by lightning

the sound of a hit is SO dramatic!

bits of tree fly everywhere

even hang from other trees

the storm then passes and skies clear

rainbows rise above

flowers dance under the sun

hard to know there was ever a storm

except

there is one less tree standing

Montana Summer!

they say if you don't like the weather:

wait five minutes!

oh my my, Last week of SOC! Week 6

~

I am amazed at how 6 weeks of summer have flown by!

Kristen's

Summer of Color is a bit of a count down

she has chosen colors for us to use each week in our art

some colors that thrill us

and

colors that we might not have chosen ourselves

it has been a wonderful time of getting to know my relationship with color

those I tend towards

some I do not

I have come to like some colors together that I have
steered clear of in the past

this weeks colors:

Raspberry & Tangerine

with a Smudge, Splash or Pop of Lemon

Thank you Kristin for being our lovely and generous host!

fairy: what's that inside her belly?

owl: facets of her spirit

fairy: ahhhh

~

such a fun week

considering: What's that?

lots of animal sounds

tiny crunching sounds inside of logs

rustling in the bushes

life energy within words that are spoken

for fun, what's this?

Thank you Carole for hosting DC

with an interesting theme
