Earthling Waterling

 In my last post, I shared the original sketch for these pieces

with a poem about how a sketch is the beginning  of a dream. 

I took that sketch and made two very different pieces.

Earthling Waterling

one life a mermaid

one life a modern gal

dwelling in the water world

walking on the earth

waves and wind caressing elements

simply being with what is

eternally

~

 This modern gal is done with prismacolor pencils and a Faber Castell Pitt pen,

6"x12" Nature Sketch Pad 130 LB..

The Mermaid piece is done with watercolor pencils and crayons,

11"x14" Canson Britol Smooth, 100 LB.

Golden Realm of Blue Skies

when ones heart 

includes all life

experience

a golden realm of blue skies

between each creature

mushroom flower unicorn

and fairy

even owl and trees

wee tiny deer

is a life of

heartfelt existence

one where joy and peace exists as the spirit of life

I feel like a beginner stumbling along. Do I paint over the deer in yellow and under the trees too?

What is the order to coloring? Ha, so much to learn!

This was done on Canson Acrylic 185 lb. 12"x16" Montval paper. 

Thick as can be!

No warping

accepted watercolor and acrylics

yellow is a color I have rarely worn

or used in art

it was so cheerful lovely and inviting

Sketch to Drawing to Painting

I am taking a art class with Tam at Willowing

this is my first assignment

I began with a sketch

but had to bring it to life with prismacolor pencils:

Then back to the sketch to make the painting

This is the largest piece I have made, 15" x 22"

she got changed a bit:

they are kin to the air and the wind

they are kin to trees

as well as flowers and bees

they are kin

 to life within

the assignment was for canvas

i had watercolor paper, so I used it

I think I will make a 3rd piece on canvas.....

I am finding it a good experience to do something similar over and over

I used watercolor pencils and crayons for her face

and her dress,

acrylics for the rest

~

the assignment was: a goddess with the artist Klimt as an inspiration
