Fungi

this autumn it has rained
and
poured
and sprinked

at the moment it is pouring rain!

such a great environment for mushrooms to fruit up
through the crust of our earth

I adore finding them, seeing them, learning about them
and
lately drawing and painting them

tonight it will freeze and that will stop most mushrooms from popping up.
Mushroom season is coming to an end.
~
I hope you enjoy my little mushrooms

  3. Beautiful paintings of mushrooms. I see, you had each one in your hands, in your loving hands. Some of them I know, they have a beautiful taste! My last found mushroom was about 14 days ago. I made dry pieces for a fine sauce later in December. Have a nice ice-night! Sleep well, mushrooms, in your under-earth-bed!

    1. Thank you for enjoying them. Yes, some of these were drawn from ones I found, others I made up, but surely exist ;-)
How fun that you found some for food. Here they will stop growing any minute, should be quite cold the next few nights with snow as well.

  8. Lovely painting of dancing mushrooms. Great colours. My father used to gather mushrooms and bring them home to cook and eat. My brother and I would not touch them as we thought we would be poisoned. So wish I had taken an interest as now have no idea which are safe to eat. Yours look innocent enough though.

    1. How wonderful that your father knew about edible mushrooms. I am told my grandfather did too. I felt sad that he never got to share that knowledge with me, but slowly I am learning. I find them interesting, beautiful and sometimes delicious. I am pretty sure you can touch all mushrooms without any harm.
