Beyond the Log Cabin Walls: DC: Threshold

she stood at the threshold
before stepping out
feeling into the essence of the world
allowing her breath
to meet the sway of the trees
the depth and height of the mountains
her heart to beat
to the song of the birds
felt her kinship with the world
and
she stepped out

  2. I love it, and now I want my heart to beat to the song of the birds! Unfortunately, I'm stuck in cities this weekend. :( I'll have to make up my own bird song. Big hugs Tammie, thank you for hosting. <3

  3. This is beautiful, Tammie. I think I love the words as much as the painting -- and I do love that!

  9. Very still picture. Making the decision to take that first step over the threshold, she is thinking about it Love the log cabin. Interesting idea to think about thresholds.

  13. This watercolour is so wonderful! The poem beneath, the description of how to start to go out from the sweet hut into the wood, world and nature: What a great meditation and instruction how to do the first step outdoor...

  15. I love the poetry and the soft, glorious feeling this lovely illustration gives. I can smell the woods and hear the sounds, there is nothing more lovely than nature in winter. So magical! <3

  17. Such beauty, inside her cabin and outside in the colourful world.
There is so much to notice in your painting, the knots in the wood, the pond, the friendly trees who look as if they are inviting her to come outside.....
    It's a gentle painting.
    Your words are magical too.
Oh and I do like her boots and her purple scarf.

    1. hi Sandy,
I did not mean it to be me, but yes, it is my cabin, even the color of the carpet and out the door the scene is very much the same but many more trees in reality. I was a honey blond, now a honey white blond. My mom was a red head, so some how i always think of her when i paint red hair.
