Winter Solstice

Tis the shortest day of the year, here.

The bears are hibernating and I also have that sleepy spirit in me.
Going with the flow of more darkness, wood stove going in the wee cabin, the cold days and snow feels nurturing, gentle and restorative.
Also....
outside the cold air is invigorating and inspiring.

I wish you a blessed Solstice
whether it is with our short days
or long days where you are.

(this is an older piece and seemed perfect for today)

  1. Dearest Tammie! How urgently I was waiting for your solstice-post Darkness 2018! And now this greatest drawing. Sooo wonderful!

I see you, and I see also the Holy Child, not as usual in hay, but in the coat of a wild animal. This child brings back to paradise all creatures, also the wildest animals. Why should the bear not shelter this young vulnerable life until This Child will start as a great hero to rescue the injured world? And this sleep in the bear-coat was the first step to rescue the world. Congratulation, wild warm bear, for your empathy!

Happy solstice from Dori from the Bavarian Forest

  4. So beautiful and tranquil with the pretty candles in the dark sky.
The cold clear frosty days are magical, and inside with the fire burning and a good book or art is magical too.
I think the bear and his friend are at peace having sweet dreams.
    Happy Christmas, Tammie.
It's lovely to see you here again.

Love, love, love this. It reminds me that we start the year anew, hopefully with more peace, tranquility, and blessings. Wishing you and your family a beautiful, lovely, and magical Christmas. (I'm unable to leave comments for you on both of your blogs, but have managed to find a work-around by using Safari instead of Chrome. It doesn't work for every blog I visit, but thankfully, it works for yours. Much love to you!)

  9. Belated Solstice greetings and holidays as well. I've been off the grid for about a week, but the light is returning. And yes, I feel like hibernating too. Maybe the light will help!
