Porch with a View

well recently i looked out my window and saw this big owl
a Great Gray

the world around me often inspires my art
sitting in the corner of my couch
next to a good light
i sketch and paint

last year i painted
the view from my door: 

this week
the view from my porch
summer is a great time to sit on the porch!

or perhaps Winter

  7. This is really tremendous, Tammie, maybe one of your very best? I love the way you have captured the owl, the painted trees and hills, the colours you have used, the girl and the finishing touch of all the verticals, especially the wonderful pattern of the lower porch. The girl is a lovely painting in herself.

  8. Just beautiful, you lucky girl! I hear some all night but rarely see them. Even when I try to sneak up to the barn owl house I miss seeing it. Once I surprised a great horned while I was walking in a forest in the interior of BC. He was so silent as he flew away. Amazing creatures. I just love your art. Always happy and always so full of expression.

  10. Hi Tammie! I like the way you drew the woman (you?) giving the back to us the persons looking at your drawing. gives me the sensation that i am part of the painting too, as if i am wathching from inside the house. Good detail!
