DC: Sky

when Eric offered: Sky

as our DC inspiration

first I went far off into the universe

a sky of dancing planets

then sunset 

the gold spots are masking fluid 

that went bad

it will not rub off

so glad this was not a piece i put a lot of time into

i wanted them to be stars

i suppose i could use white paint on them

but i wanted to share that masking fluid does not always work

i suppose good to test on scrap paper first

because it is spring

a butterfly in flight 

in pink morning light

Swinging to Her Own Tune

there's a witch hanging from the moon

sitting on her broom

swinging swaying to her own tune

looking down on the earth

across the universe

she spies a bird in flight

is filled with delight

noting that is

another way to fly

across the sky

walking in the forest

the other day

i looked up to see this

Great Grey Owl

looking into my eyes

Sky of Stars

who are you darling
the tilt of your head
your tender eyes
the way gentle light ignites your face 

so softly
I feel I know you
yet it will take years to see the facets of your shadows
and light
before your essence is revealed wholly
~

I actually sketched her months ago and came across it recently and thought to paint her

painting was a learning experience 

each step of the way
this color
that color
layer up layer

light shadows

and 

i look at her

this lady who is kin of stars

and want to know her

for there is something lovely in her spirit
