DC: Images

what do these images inspire in you
a memory, thought,
inspiration,
desire,
do they ignite your imagination?

i love laying on the earth
cloud watching

i also enjoy that the word 'image'
is held warmly within the word 'imagination'

Thank you nadine of tinyWOOLFE
for hosting DC with the theme: Image

  2. The first image make me want to go out and watch
mother nature (but it is raining over here...)
The second one makes me think this could be a
dragon looking down on me. And he has some
nice curls on his forehead :))

    Have a beautiful weekend Tammie!

  6. I love the illusions clouds create - making pictures and telling stories. Lovely, gentle painting Tammie.

  7. thank you all for your lovely messages!

a friend sent me this poem and it is perfect for this painting:
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I'll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase "each other" doesn't make any sense.

    thank you Peter!

  8. i've read it before, on your blog, or maybe on facebook, i'm not sure, how you love the dynamics of a thunderstorm, how it's a phenomenon that does slow us down some, because of its power, perhaps? we had a nice one this week, and i loved it. i saw a donkey waiting out the storm underneath the foliage of an apple tree and it was such a zen sight. i hope the storm brought water to your grounds. we've had rain all day today, and it is warm, necessary rain. it also means i'm gonna have to cut the grass later this week..

i agree! image has many sisters and brothers, such as imagination and imagery. and me too, i love looking up at the skies, any which way they look and see what happens there. sometimes nothing, which is good too. ;))) n♥

    1. thank you for sharing your sighting of the donkey, your telling inspires and image.
We got a little water, not enough to clear the skies of smoke or to put out the wildfires. Still it felt good and inspired pause to listen and watch.

  9. lovely painting, I think she is going to run amok around the field or stand there and watch the sunset, whatever it is, she is ready for something.

nice cloud shot, I too like watching the clouds but I'm always standing upright, perhaps it's more pleasant laying down?

hope you have a lovely day.

    1. i would say, easier on the neck to lie down, which makes it more pleasant.
the other night i stepped out to look at the starry sky and spotted a shooting star over head
so i laid down hoping for more
no more, but a beautiful starry sky

  11. Your painting has such peace, everything is still and non-threatening.

  12. Among my favourite paintings are those that contain the ability for the viewer to fill in the blanks with their own energy, visuals, ideas, responses, etc. For the longest time these have been my favourite painting-types. Your painting is filled in with the ether of calm, perhaps a bit of dusty air stirred by the promise of rain, floating flower seeds invisible but powerful. A moment of meditation in this world of ours. A moment of thanks. Love this Tammie! N, x

  15. Hi Tammie Lee,
Your painting reminds me of the beautiful green hills in Temecula... As far as the clouds, I am always finding images in the clouds.. Angels, faces, animals.. Love to look at the clouds.
    Beautiful and inspiring post.
    blessings,

  16. Okay Tammie Lee, I'm imagining myself lying on the grass watching the clouds slowly shift into images of cats, dogs, kings, castles....... Thank you!
The rolling hills in your sweet painting must be tempting for the girl to see what's on the other side. I hope you have some cloud watching days ahead. xo Carole

  18. i like them both
your drawing/painting and the direction she looks at
for me it says, forward and future, which i like
and the second, the image of the sky... oh yes!
i love that, watching a sky, a blue one, or a grey one like today
and a thunderstorm, well those are the best, all that energy!

word image has been in my mind all week
and i never thought about imagination
    thanxx for that!

  19. Tammie,

What a splendid message is this.
Standing in a vale of summer light
experiencing the ecstasy of a beautiful mind.

    Weaver of visions
    with your spinnings of amaranth
    your tenuous seas of flowers
longing for the coolness of living water
I get lost without regret in your silver labyrinth
in the crystals of your timeless light...

  22. Yes you're right with image - imagination and that might be the reason why we all so drawn to images especially those who are allow us to see our own imaginations in it, our dreams, desires and hope. Like your drawing which leaves so much open space for the eye of the beholder.

That's a cloud? I thought it was a sky serpent, bending down to smell your freshly washed hair. :)
