Part Fairy

I met a little girl
walking along an autumn forest

her voice some human
 some fairy

I said:
I think you are part fairy

she replied:
I know I am

bits of her words were entirely human and English
others flew away before I could hear them
it was as though they were carried off by butterfly wings
words laced with music, lyrical

~

the autumn forest:

    1. thank you Lisa. This was an actual experience a few days ago. I drove to the North Fork to stay in a friends wee cabin that is off the GRID, no power, phones, computer. The first night i met this young girl and our conversation inspired this drawing.

    1. the forest is near a place i stayed last week
a wee cabin off the grid at the foothills of the NW entrance of Glacier National Park. A friends cabin.
The poem is a true story, the first night at the cabin i was walking along the forest and met a little girl with her father and that was our conversation. her response surprised me and brought me joy.
That is how the drawing came to life.

I also live with forest, ponds and meadows in a wee cabin, but i have plumbing and electricity and a phone. I love it here.

      sweet weekend to you.
