Pink Realm

she lives in a pink realm
soft edges
ephemeral borders
skin transparent to energy tender
fluttering friends

her pink sky
filled with the sweet scent of lilies

yes she lives in a pink realm
that holds true to a soft heart
that sings purely
~
*

this piece started with a sketch I shared with you a couple of weeks ago:

I colored her face with prismacolor pencils
I love doing that

then I cut her out of the page
and prepared a 7"x16" piece of plywood with bits of colored paper, napkins and paint:

for the first time I coated the piece with beeswax
oh how i love
yes LOVE
the scent of beeswax
plus it makes for a soft realm:

though the very first photo in this post is the completed piece
from that photo it is hard to see the texture and softness that these side views show

Butterfly Girl

her wings
made of energy
only some could see
she
a quiet flighty one
full of dreams yet to be
if you sense into her heart
you'll find a spiral dance
you'll sense her wings of dancing light
a bit like a butterfly's stance
~

oh! her face is so pink in this scan, her face is more light peach
and her top and hair a gray, oh well.

I have begun taking 21 Secrets
began with Jane Davenport's class
she asked to show her our 'doodle'
you know, what ever little thing that we have been sketching throughout life

well I have been sketching little energy spheres like in the wings above forever
do you have a doodle?

Ces of the Oak Clan

she
drawn to the oak clan
so
she drew their likeness
many shapes styles
imbued her lines with quercus pneuma
mighty stance of oak
firmly rooted with earth
branches dancing in heavens

home to those who crawl and fly
nuts that whisper of future life
she drew and drew
until she too
became kin of Quercus
~

one night I drew the top two leaves
and nuts
then Ces appeared amongst the leaves
i did not go and look at ms. Ces's photo
in order to make it look like her
all the same
I know it is Ces!
Any of you who know Ces and her art
understand this with no explanation.
If not you will gift yourself in a leisurely visit!

Golden Realm of Blue Skies

when ones heart
includes all life
experience
a golden realm of blue skies
between each creature
mushroom flower unicorn
and fairy
even owl and trees
wee tiny deer
is a life of
heartfelt existence
one where joy and peace exists as the spirit of life
all are welcome

I feel like a beginner stumbling along. Do I paint over the deer in yellow and under the trees too?
What is the order to coloring? Ha, so much to learn!

This was done on Canson Acrylic 185 lb. 12"x16" Montval paper.
Thick as can be!
No warping
accepted watercolor and acrylics
~

yellow is a color I have rarely worn
or used in art
it was so cheerful lovely and inviting

Tenderness

deep waters
inspire
tenderness
amongst friends
a welcome embrace

~

our assignment was to paint on wood
we were not told to prime the wood
it soaked up paint
I enjoyed the new experience
I used a thin plywood
that is now splintering at the cut edge

any suggestions for how I might coat/finish this piece?
It was painted with watercolor pencils and crayons
plus acrylic paints
 ~

being a double pisces.... it was fun to add the dancing circle of fish

4"x5" St. Armand Watercolor Paper

I have not done much tiny art, 4x5 seems tiny to me.
I enjoyed it very much and I can see that I will do more!
This paper is a bit fragile and inspires lines to be accurate the first time
as erasing wears away at the surface.
This is very good for attention and presence with each stroke of the pencil.
Good practice for a person who uses erasers QUITE freely, such as myself. Ha

Lynne, dear lady,
again I thank you for this lovely paper!

Yesterday, I received a wonderful drawing by the talented and lovely hearted

Embrace on Wings of Light ~

life in a world
of endless thoughts
information
things to learn
to do

mixed with our deep nature
of energetic spheres
of light
instinct
golden wisdom

a daily affair
to embrace with our utmost
grace

Sunday, I watched and followed a free tutorial from Tam at Willowing,
called; Art, heart and healing.
You can do it too.
I had SO much FUN.
I have had watercolor crayons for at least 15 years and did not know what to do with them.
She taught us to create a face with pencil, much as I always do,
then to lightly color the face with crayons and use a wet brush to make it turn to paint.
She moved at a fast pace and I tried to keep up.
It was fun fun fun to go fast and loose and see the face appear.

We were guided to put words on it,
I still can not find peace with mixing words on my art, they look tacky to my sense of harmony,
so I covered them up.
This is how it looked at one stage:

Earth Angel

earth angels mingle in the flesh of our land
permeating the soil with a spirit
in which we find clan
hovering as well in our auras to embed
a reminder that we too are one with the land

Celebrating Samhain ~ Summer's End

born with a heart of knowing
remained due to upbringing
between
owls hoots and wolves singing
wisdom of bears and birds tweeting
call of the wind and water flowing
witch full of natures knowing
veils between seen and unseen now thinning
wisdom available reminds of hearts knowing
tis the season of internal remembering
~

Wishing you a wonderful Halloween
and Samhain Celebration!
-

also, in the actual piece of art, her hair is not orange,
it is shades of gold, but I could not show this on the scan, oh well.

Autumns goddess; Lady Mabon

find goddess of autumn
within dancing leaves
hanging from trees
flitting earthbound
her eyes in the equinox moon
presence of the seasons tune
partake of her spirit
as you breath crisp air
dance under the moon
wear new autumn hues
enjoy our new season
~

for my artists friends who enjoy seeing the beginning to the end,
this time I started by mapping out a grid, practice you know.

 ~

I wish you all a lovely Autumn.
Treat yourself to enjoy the crisp air
the colors
and
the obvious dance of change.
Happy Equinox
and
Blessed Mabon

Born of Petals

It begins with a sketch:
then poetry and colors unfold:

imagine
being born in a cocoon made of petals

deep in the forest
treasures behold
petal by petal
cocoon takes hold
filled with protection
nutrition and more
essence is planted
her spirit and body are born
delicate
fragrant
sunlight imbues
pink lavender golds
body and spirit are fused
she
a blossom born of petals
~
