DC: Upside Down

such a fun and unique challenge

loving yoga
even though after years i am still a beginner
upside down reminded me of a dozen poses

plus
long ago
a friends son
would put himself upside down every chance he got
i thought that was so Coooool!

note the large rock this is photographed on
is indeed purple
Montana rocks are awesome!

I found my first fawn of the season,

the tiniest fawn I have ever seen!

Tuesday we had a big storm
thunder for hours, then lightning, hail and rain
lightning hit a tree 40 feet from my cabin
wahoo, LOUD!
Poor tree!
bark and wood all over my yard and forest
it turned my modem 'upside down'
or rather off for two days, till a new one arrived

this is how it looked as the storm moved on:

with your thought provoking them:

hello art friends,
i have just decided to take a Compassion Course
have you ever heard of non-violent communication?
I had the fortune to enjoy two days with Marshal Rosenberg
and learn about this form of communicating

i was so impressed
by how simply conflicts can be resolved
needs have a chance of being met
empathy brings us present
it made me consider, more than any other path
how peace on earth could possibly manifest

you can see two samples of the course
Empathy
and
Appreciation

it is a 52 week course
one lesson a week
perhaps you would enjoy it too
~

sweet week to you!

DC Challenge: No Limits

Roberto is our wonderful host this weekend
his prompt is: No Limits
at first i thought i was going to share about the endless amount of wild foods to be found this time of year

but instead this piece of art came to me
first as in ink drawing
then to be watercolored
~

there are no limits to her wings
she even has some that are unseen
wings in her heart
her spirit and soul
all that take her
anywhere she wishes to go

DC: Memories..... and there are so many ;-)

recently
i have been smitten with the present moment

inspired by
wanting to know how to best care for my land
so i listen

to the breeze animating the trees
and
the beauty of flowers tilting their heads to the sun

(fairy slipper, Calypso orchid)

tiny fungus as they rise through the surface of the earth

in doing so
i have found myself in a deep quiet joy

that is what the present moment can inspire
deep quiet joy

and i thought (memories) of other moments in my life
that brought me present to:
 deep quiet joy

my son falling asleep on my shoulder

the colors of the setting or rising sun

a kiss
where nothing else exists

the first sip of coffee in the morning

photographing ice crystals and snowflakes

creating art

dancing
and
dancing with a partner

(dancing with violets)

the list goes on

i love it when the past falls away
and the future is where it belongs.... in the future
and i am
completely absorbed
in now

i feel that is the best
experience of my 56 years of life
~

it seems the presence is in this moment and in my memories
so many memories!
~

Thank you for this wonderful prompt
it took me on a big journey
sharing what i have been experiencing
and looking to the past

visit Kristen's Blog this weekend
to enjoy other artist's inspiration for:

I simply played with my lettering

Yogini and Friends

I believe this began by spying the shape of an elephant in the texture of a tile floor

it sat in my sketchbook for months

the other day.... the yogini joined in
then the scene
it was not until i tossed her clothing and boots on the forest floor
that it all came together for me

I enjoy the mystery of each piece

~
I shared this photo
the top of a small pine tree
on my photography blog
i am so moved by it
that i will also share it here

www.spirithelpers.net

the protective needles
the protective skin on the flowers? in the shape of a star
is that where people got the idea of a star on top of a Christmas tree?
Someone thought this is a fir tree.
Do any of you know what sort of pine or what we are seeing here?
