  1. Hope the footsteps are invited friends coming to your cabin in the woods. The only wildlife in my garden is birds.
Really enjoy the way you paint trees.

    1. Thank you for enjoying my trees. I have so much to learn about creating them! I look out the window for ideas.
Never know who will show up at my door. There have been fox often this winter.

I saw foot steps of bears in the snow this week, often they are hibernating this time of year. surprise!

  2. that is a very lovely landscape. the trees and small flower garden, smoke from the chimney, it's just wonderful. I wouldn't mind living there except the bears will probably keep me at home.

maybe you should paint a winter version? I have seen your photos of the bear tracks, isn't it scary to see them? I suppose the bears keeps to themselves.

I will be posting mine tomorrow. have a lovely day.

    1. Hi Lissa,

Thank you for enjoying the details of this piece. It took a surprising amount of time to draw and paint it.

Yes, someday I will paint a winter version. Painting snow is a bit of a mystery to me ;-).

It wasn't scary seeing the tracks, but if I saw a bear and it was acting hostile that would be. Usually they walk or run off if they see a person.

  10. This is truly delightful, and idyllic scene, and it looks like a wonderful illustration of your actual home - but - grizzly bears???!!!
I love all the friendly trees, maybe they are guarding your home, and I see yellow flowers laughing in their protective area. The cabin looks so cosy with the curly smoke from the chimney, lovely and cosy from the fire inside.

  14. Tammie, what an idyllic place you've depicted and to see it's pretty much where you live makes it al the more special! Your style here is airy and fun. I love all your little details, including the tree bark and sap and even the sky with its whimsy clouds. Your line work is vry lyrical too. Great contribution to our theme! I could definitely do a picnic there! :) Thank you!

Oh, and um, about those bear prints (in photo): whaaaaa? That would make me far too scared to venture too far away from the house! Amazing.
