Hairstick and Bun

i slide into a realm
of joy and contentment
when i sketch whatever face
wants to appear on my page

some days are full of learning new techniques
and how to draw bodies (like in my last post)
they are challenging
so in between
I draw a face, a lovely spirit
like this gal who wears her hair in a bun
~

to enjoy other wonderful artists art

are there things you draw that nurture you?

  24. I think the beauty in other peoples art/photography nurtures me in a way, it sounds weird but in looking, visually absorbing the art there is a purity, and I feel sometimes although my stuff doesn't completely satisfy me, looking at others takes me to a place that only they can share, & it makes me happy, like the serenity & intelligence of the girl with bun here, that seems to radiate from this wonderful sketch - just lovely :)

  34. she looks calm, collect. & quite lovely.

I like to scribble in odd curves when I can't draw, I suppose that is sort of nurturing as I don't have a steady hand and often just scibbling or just touching pencil to paper is quite a relief.

    have a sweet day.

  35. I am sure you will learn to draw bodies as well as you now draw these ethereal faces.
What do I draw that nurtures me? Hmmm. I think it is trees, gnarly, bumpy, twisted tree trunks.. I love to draw those!
