Hiking with Friends

summer hiking
lake fishing
Lucy always in the lead
flowers blooming
forest growing
that is all we need

hiked to Whale Lake with friends last summer

(there was actually 5 of us, only 2 made it into the painting)
I think it was 12 miles round trip and 100F

I really enjoyed creating this piece
so colorful against my milky gray winter

    1. yep, I think it was 12 miles. I can't remember. That is a lot for me in one day and it was UP UP UP and then Down down down.
ON the way down there was bear scat on the trail and it was not there on the way up ;-)

That sentence is a wonderful start for something.
She is always ahead and stopping to look back and check in on us. Also, are we still going this way? Yep and on she goes.
Thank you for enjoying the details Jeanie.

  5. Love how there is so much gentle roundness, in your art. If that makes any sense. :-)

The trees, the sun, flowers, rocks, leaves, etc.

And the way you can 'shade,' is almost heart-breaking. Because I don't know how to do it. But I am so glad, that you do.

    Gently lovely, all....

  10. This is such a complex painting, I could spend ages looking. The rocks, the lovely path, the little (fairy?) tree in the foreground and the man with all he is carrying - this is marvellous.

  14. I'm enjoying all the details in this wonderful piece! And that pup making sure that his friend is following makes me smile. Really beautiful, all the colors and shapes. Whew, that must have been some hike! Twelve miles in 100F heat? I don't think I could pull that off.
