Bear and Birds

most certainly
living with bears,
though i rarely see them
is influencing my days
because i think of them when i walk out my door

they are in my dreams as well

i love thinking how I have seen them eating grass and flowers
and how one might find a bird sitting on them

    1. Well I have never seen a bird on a bears head, but i sense it happens.
I have seen them on horses, cattle etc.
That is the fun of art, we get to do what we want.

  4. This bear looks quite friendly with his bird friends (love that slightly puzzled-looking owl) and his pretty flower garden, but I would guess that he might not be so friendly in Real Life? - although you still go out of doors with the possibility of meeting one.
    It's a really lovely painting.

    1. Thank you for enjoying this Sheila.
I knew a bear was walking through my woods and I listened to life around it. They were not setting off alarming sounds like they do when people wander through. So my thought is that most animals, especially birds have no fear of bears.

Yes, I still go out for walks, but maybe not as often in bear season (not hibernating). But i do carry bear spray more often these days, a wise thing to do.

  5. perhaps bears dream of us humans as much as we dream of them... sweet drawing, & also the previous bear drawing was quite adorable

    1. I wonder if they do dream about us, I wouldn't be surprised. You can tell that dogs dream. Interesting thought.

    2. I hope your husband carries bear spray when he is running.

Recently a man was killed in our area when he was riding his bike on a forest trail and collided with a bear.
Seems fast moving people can scare a bear and they consider that a threat. Bear spray is a great safety tool.

May your husband only have good bear experiences.
