A gorgeous painting, love the background. :) One of my new years resolutions is to go back to yoga. I've not been for over a year and my body misses it badly! Jess xx
Gorgeous!!!! The background is sumptuous with all the fluid colors mixing and her hair, how did you do her hair? It is so light and gorgeous and you have this very subtle texture. This might be my favorite painting of yours so far. I love the movement of the watercolor around her too--it's like an aura emanating from her.
hello Kae, Thank you for enjoying this piece. Her hair.... or as i like to think of it, her hair wrap made of fabric. First i painting it a warm buttery color, then whispy bits of white on top. I also think it looks like hair as well and let it stand unclear ;-) Watercolor is so fabulous, it's movement and life of it's own.
Beautifully done! Her expression and colors seem to be melting into the background, becoming one, bringing us back to your poem. Wise words about letting boundaries dissolve. Wishing you well and creative time in the new year.
how wonderful that you have had this experience Dori, I do also, it takes me there. I think that is one of the possible gifts of statues of gods and deities, their stance can remind us of that place within us. I love considering this again through your insight, thank you.
Love the peacefullness of this painting. She's so lovely, and the background is gorgeous. Love her clothes too! Happy creative year to you dear Tammie ♥
I feel the calmness not only in her facial expression but also in the rather vivid colored background. Her inner beauty looks to be shining through the meditation. I feel aura. Nice way to start the New Year afresh.
