Succulent

lately I find myself enjoying botanical art
I love looking at pieces that others have made

I enjoy my whimsical art much more
due to the creative aspect

botanical art is more technical
which is nice in a different way

I took this lesson at Anna Mason's school
I adore succulents
and
find them so beautiful

  4. Gorgeous painting! I took a botanical illustration class once and absolutely hated the detail work. I loved the results, but I decided that precision was just not for me.

  19. Oh my goodness, Tammie, this is gorgeous! It's not so easy with so many petals pointing in all directions, but you have made it look so effortless and beautiful. I love succulents, mostly because they can withstand my neglect. Though I did manage to kill a baby succulent recently.... :( Really, really, really love this.

  26. I love succulents too. I have to say that I find botanical art a soulless type of painting but your painting here is not at all like that - you've painted the plant as it is and it is totally recognisable but you have given it something else - which I can't quite find words for - maybe you have painted a plant with a personality? - a plant which is alive?
