Thank you so much for enjoying this Dori! I feel happy with this as well. Yes, good advice to spend some time with legs in the air at this time of year. I will do it to.
Well I tried the legs against the wall and at first I didn't think that was upside down but then the blood started falling from the legs to the head, so it worked. The lady in your absolutely perfect drawing and painting does not need this advice, she looks very happy. That's a marvellous pose.
It makes me smile that you gave it a try. A yoga teacher told me how it is good for our immune system. That pose, legs up the wall, is also known to be a relaxation pose. Here is some guidance: Upside-Down Relaxation
Minutes: 0:00-2:00
Sit facing a wall (or your headboard) with your butt about 6 inches away from it. Lie back and extend your legs up the wall. If this is too intense a stretch for your hamstrings, slide your butt farther away from the wall. If it's not enough, scoot closer. Let your arms rest by your sides, palms facing up, and breathe gently, feeling the stretch in the backs of your legs.
I cannot do a shoulder stand for the life of me lol...I don't have the ab strength to pull myself up and when I do them up against the wall, I wiggle and jiggle abnormally ha ha ha...I guess I should practice more! The drawing is lovely!
Thanks for making me smile. I did not even think about how uncomfortable it would be to do this pose on a rock! ;-) Hope your shoulder feels good soon. I swear by arnica cream, gel or tablets. Very impressive immediately after knocking oneself, an accident and any injury that does not include bleeding. But I would still try later after things hurt.
Wowness Tammie, gorgeous and inspiring! I love that pose , you have beautifully illustrated it with such a magical vibe (and powerfully meditative just gazing at it!!) I love her boots, and would so love to wear those! I especially love the color palette and energy you have woven into this beautiful world of hers, she is divine !
Warm Greetings to you, I am a artist, photographer of nature and poetic writer. My arts are inspired by the land I live with. Living in a wee log cabin surrounded by woods, meadows and wildlife in the NW corner of Montana. I hope you enjoy your visit, I look forward to getting to know you.

I think if I got upside down, I'd never get rightside up! She looks very coordinated!
ReplyDeleteI think one of the gifts of yoga is that it helps us to be coordinated.

DeleteShe's beautifully limber! When my shoulder stops killing me, I'll give this a try. But not on a rock. :)
