Michael at Scribble Picnic gave us a shape to use in art this week:
at first I thought to use it in a tribal design
when I set pencil to paper
these little houses came to life
art is endlessly amusing to me that way
as though it has a mind of it's own
Thank you for hosting Michael
visit Scribble Picnic
to see what others created wth this shape

ReplyDeleteI bet it really was "fun to do" and it is such an adorable illustration. First thing which came to mind was the ancient French city of Carcassonne with the turrets (my brother lives near there and I love visiting), then I saw your very different but amazing sun. It's all lovely, and the colors you chose so perfect.
ReplyDeleteWell done!
Thank you for your kind message Mary. I just looked at photos of Carcassonne because of you. Fun architecture for sure.
DeleteIt was a fun piece to do.
What a delightful little community and I love the little round house that gives it some umph ... all it needs is a little bunny hopping across the yards. You can borrow my Scribble Picnic bunny if you like :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea @ From the Sol
cute, a bunny. yes, some critters and people would be sweet to add.
DeleteWhat a precious village. I would love to visit and meet some of the "Little People" who dwell there. I know many lovely stories could be told about each of those little castle homes.
ReplyDeleteThank you Wanda. I would like to meet them and listen to their stories too.
DeleteA little village. How cute.

ReplyDeleteSo many choices for that shape Jeanie.
DeleteAh yes, the pens did it - I know how that works.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that a great way to interpret the shape; your houses are so sweet.
Thank you Sheila. When I posted this I thought of you and your art.... somehow it reminded me of you.
DeleteWhat a fab interpretation, Tammie. So clever and whimsical too. I totally know what you mean here as well. Well done! Such a delight to see this. Clever, clever. Thank you so much!
