    1. thank you renilde, it is meaningful to take something from a dream and portray it. we do have lions in our woods, though i have not seen their tracks lately. the snow is very deep this winter and hunting must be easy for them.... our forest is wonderful and wild.

  8. She's so lovely Tammie! I remember one year, when the children were very little, we were at my cabin with friends and three dogs: my malamute Hunter, a friend's golden, and a blue tick hound I just rescued. A mountain lion was stalking the family and we spied him from across the pond. The dogs froze, the golden turned into a bowl of jelly, Hunter started to bark (and scared himself because he didn't know he could), and the hound, Sam, flew off after the beast and treed him up a 50 ft tree. Some of the adults stayed with the children, one got in a car and went to get the farmer down the road, and some of us, including me, went after Sam to find out where the lion was. The lion jumped the 50 ft down and ran away with Sam in hot pursuit. I thought that would be the end of Sam, but he came back about three hours later with his tongue so far out of his mouth it was ridiculous, happy as a clam. Sam eventually went to live with a hunter in the country and lived out his happy life there chasing all sorts of things. But I'll never forget seeing that magnificent cat jump the 50 ft and disappear. What a sight. Thank you so much for joining my dear. X

    1. that is quite a story Veronica! thank you for sharing it with us. wild animals do what they do and only rarely to we become part of it. for me it keeps life in check and quite respectful and aware of my environment. you won't find me walking the woods with headphones for music in my ears.

      thank you for hosting!

  11. Lovely paining, strong and soulful.
Mountain lions are called cougars in Canada. On Vancouver Island our cougars smaller but strong.
Happy dreaming to you this week. xo

  14. Beautiful painting.
    beautiful words.
    As always.

And I've got to tell you that the image flashed me back some 14-15 years ... to a dream I had involving a white lioness. It was during some intense healing work I was doing at the time. I woke up with scratches. ::nods:: So ... this beautiful painting resonates *deeply!*

  16. the coincidence of finding your lion here, and me buying a lion's mask yesterday, for upcoming carnival days. not that i will be diving into carnival madness, but simply hanging that mask on a hallway hook. now it will always make me think of you too! n♥

  21. There is something very powerful about this painting, something spiritual, the calm lion, the lady in her long skirt, the purple hills and the lime green.
There is movement too, they are walking along together, I can see it.
And what a truly imaginative and inventive interpretation of the theme.
