I believe this began by spying the shape of an elephant in the texture of a tile floor
it sat in my sketchbook for months
the other day.... the yogini joined in
then the scene
it was not until i tossed her clothing and boots on the forest floor
that it all came together for me
I enjoy the mystery of each piece
~
I shared this photo
the top of a small pine tree
on my photography blog
i am so moved by it
that i will also share it here
the protective needles
the protective skin on the flowers? in the shape of a star
is that where people got the idea of a star on top of a Christmas tree?
Someone thought this is a fir tree.
Do any of you know what sort of pine or what we are seeing here?

That is an inspired image! Exciting

Bonjour chère amie,
ReplyDeleteUne très jolie oeuvre, pleine de grâce.
Merci aussi pour le partage de cette belle photo.
Gros bisous ❀ ❁ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❁ ❀
The needles look like they are giving little hugs! I would have to see more of the tree to make an inference as to what type of tree it is. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteGreat place to get inspiration from, a floor tile! I get a kick out of how free the woman looks, I would never think to remove my clothes and do yoga on the back of an elephant. Where do you get your imaginative ideas from, Or is that something you have done before??? Heehee!
Love your imagination. :) Great painting!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for you fun and kind messages!
ReplyDeleteRenee,
thanks for making me chuckle! I have little idea as to where these ideas come from. They evolve as i go along. First the elephant then the yogini came to mind. I was not satisfied, then the clothing idea arrived for some reason that made me smile and then the landscape came to life. I feel the art tells me how it wants to be more often than i come up with a complete idea.
Though I feel it would be fun to have an elephant as a friend, I have never done yoga with one ;-)
Yay, so blissful and magical..a very beautiful yogini( she makes me think of my yogini friend, she also has reddish hair, neat sychronicity).
ReplyDeleteSweet elephant, it is wonderful the images that come to life!
Gorgeous..nature is so very breathtaking..looks like beginning stages of buds/ cones..they do look encased...so amazing! THanks for sharing! I am not sure from that pic..but it sure is a super-beautiful tree..beautiful! Love all of the sacred geometry in nature..
your painting came together so nicely. isn't it great when we can leave the image alone for awhile and it speaks to us what it needs later? i so enjoy that photo too. it's a favorite. hope all is well. have a great day~

ReplyDeleteI just LOVE your elephant!! Made me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad to know I am not the only one who sees images in abstract tiles:)
ReplyDeleteAmazing macro shot! I don't know what kind of tree that is, but Sibley guide to trees is a great resource.
About nettle: we've been thinking about collecting it to make a tea. Have you ever done that?
wishing you a good week!
I couldn't help but smile wide at this image. I love the whimsey of it ... and it offers pause, too, to sit with the imagery and ponder the messages.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that.
And for the *beautiful* pine tip, too!
Bliss! All that wonderful stretching and bending, from the bluebells to the tree branches to the figures themselves. It's all so harmonious and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd I had never seen the new growth of a pine tree up close before. Amazing!
