DC: Nest

she formed her nest of feathers
soft for the newborns arrival
with care
she touched each one
offering love to last their whole life long
 ~

two paintings were inspired

this nest is made of forget-me-not flowers

I enjoyed considering nests this week:
our skull is a nest for our brain
body a basket/nest for our soul and spirit
earth nest for all life on planet
I thought of homes
or feeling at home
a place to give birth
to nurture new life
caring for life in a nest
these thoughts hold my heart like a nest holds eggs

~
thank you for being our wonderful host Ariane!

  2. both your pieces are great. it won't be long til we're seeing birds begin their nesting rituals. i hope the robins come back for nesting at our house again. they've been doing it for a few years now. it's always exciting to see. hope all is well. have a great day~

  3. So lovely … the contemplation and the images.

My spouse has been putting up new birdhouses around our little acre. That was his late-winter project, building the houses. He's finishing up a wren house and we need to replace the pole in our front yard gardens ~ SOON ~ for the pair of wrens that return year after year. :)

Oh, these are so sweet! Feathers and sweet forget me nots make the best thresholds for new life. I love the imagery of a fairy blessing the eggs. So wonderful!

  7. This theme is always so new, though it is as old as life. This theme is so important. I am sad, that a lot of chicken never are allowed to now, what a nest is, being breeded by a mother-hen!

    Beautiful drawings, beautiful, important text!

  12. actually ? since you're talking 'bout these actual nests? i just remember, my next door neighbour has a bird's nest between the roof rim and the street electricity cabling, and i clean up the fallen twigs, like, every day! why didn't i think of this before, he?
i wish i could peek inside that nest, like i can peek here, in yours...

  28. Tammie,

I love how your mind thinks. It is so nice to find someone who thinks with her heart and soul, and is able to think about connections. Your art lately is so refreshing and shows a sense of renewal and peace!

Love the fairy preparing the eggs for life and success!

    Thanks for being an inspiration!
