Love the whimsy of this piece. I kind of chuckled at the girl just casually standing en pointe and waving at her new friend that walked down from the sky. Are you thinking of colouring this one Tammie? I can just imagine it with vibrant colours.
ReplyDeleteSo fun and magical! The pointy feet on the ballerina girl are so cute! Lovely trees and flowers too. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeletethank you for enjoying this piece. I love drawing girls on their toes, they make me smile too. I don't think i will color this piece. Sometimes I do get tempted, but i like this as an inked piece.
Hi Cindy D.
So glad you enjoyed this. Thank you!
I agree, the eye contact is so important. Your drawing is very good.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful drawing, love the theme, too. Great photo of the bear! Valerie
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute sketch! And quite an impressive bear ...!
ReplyDeleteOh, so there she appears once again, the girl with the amazing flexibility and amazing ability to dance on her toes! What friendly eye contact your girl with the cute cowboy boots is making! I am sure the two girls will be lifelong friends. That instant connection of eye contact has such power!
ReplyDeleteThe bear eye contact would be one I am sure you will never forget. Wonderful, surprising and scary all at once!
sacre bleu. is that a grizzly? wowowowow.... I've seen black bears here in NC but not grizzlies. wow!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely drawing! The pirouette is delicate and fun, and I like how the road goes on forever
I love your drawing. It is so detailed yet spontaneous. That bear looks rather too close for comfort!
ReplyDeleteSo much whimsy in your sketch! Wow, what an intense stare! Yikes! haha
ReplyDeleteHappy Paint Party Friday!
Tam
I just love your sketches! Always so whimsical.. Beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you were a safe distance from this magnificent bear!
blessings,
Penny
Thank you so much Tammy... I always enjoy your visits.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful weekend.
fondly,
Penny
The bear does not fight, because the viewer is dancing so nice, and the soul of the viewer is dancing, too, holding a beautiful inner balance. So the bear is in a peaceful, fascinated watching eye-contact with her.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU miss magical! I had no idea you painted as well as your photography blog. I love your work as well, it is so uplifting and wonderful! I really dig the hair on your header portrait!
ReplyDeletei totally agree, eye contact with an animal is very, very powerful, mainly because i try to get it with my human brains, and i always wonder if this is correct. i mean, we don't know for sure what the animal 'thinks'.
ReplyDeletei see you have spring on your mind too. just my perfect dose of it in your drawing! n♥
So true, Tammie Lee! You create a sweetness in your drawing with your delicate lines. BUT the bear does not!!! Have a great week. xo Carole
ReplyDeleteeye contact to an animal - so magical and powerful! - your drawing is so clear and full of spring! a little bit like looking into a mirror. but than the composing of your lines let me think, that there is another eye of a third person having eyecontact with those wonderful two ladies.
ReplyDeletehave a nice weekend!
xo dania
wauw, that bear!
ReplyDeletesuch a contrast with your sweet drawing
light and magical
as they always are
fine week to you!
Hi, Tammie! come to your blog is like a fresh breeze of tranquility and nature, always. I had not thought in eye contact with animals, very true,
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me see!!! and good week for you!
GOOD GRACIOUS! That is eye contact I'd never, ever forget! I so wish they were not dangerous!
ReplyDeleteTammie Lee, you live in such a beautiful area, to see a bear from a neighbor's yard! There was a black bear in a tree in the city of St. Paul (I live in Minneapolis) but unfortunately, the little darling had to be put down. Where in the world did he come from!
Your art display today is fabulous; I find poetry in every thing, and the idea of eye contact is such an intriguing idea!
Many thanks for your visit today! Anita
woaw! so true- how can you forget that face :) and meaningful no...
ReplyDeleteThe drawing is lovely as always Tammie! simple lines are the best!
Hello Tammie - I am glad your girl met a kindred spirit on the long trail, not Mr. Bear!
ReplyDeletexxoo, sus
who wouldn't smile making eye contact with a happy dancing girl :)
ReplyDeletesuch a joyful drawing Tammie Lee.
i'm impressed by your bear eye contact, it's hard for me to imagine meeting a bear in my neighbors yard, 'powerful and not being able to move' are words that are coming to my mind now.
thanks, xx
Oh my goodness, you had eye contact with a bear! In wildlife! Hard to imagine for me here, where no bears will be expected on a walk outside...that surely IS a powerful moment, rare and intense!! Don't know if I had calm hands enough to make such an amazing photo!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a joyful and happy meeting of the girls! Eye contact is always worth a dance! ;o)
Your drawings are so imaginative--and you're right about eye-contact! lol
ReplyDeleteI was terrified by the bear picture, Tammie. GOODNESS! Looks like it is thinking about charging. I'm glad you were a safe distance away.
A lovely drawing, so original.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking back at the faces I have missed and have enjoyed your individual approach and your variety.
Ooooh! I love this pen and ink drawing! Heehee, I love that she is on her toes on top of a little mound, as if to get to the highest position possible to see who's coming up the road.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank goodness you were a safe distance from that bear! Whoa.
