Elfin Light

it's the light that caught her eye
not the wildly fun fungi scattered in the forest
for they were her friends and she knew they were there
but the light
it called her name
whispering of the magic that ran in her veins
~

there is a lot of metallic paint in this piece
photos rarely show this fact...

Deer and Friend

always
so interesting
to put art on the computer screen and see it new again
this piece is begging for more time and attention....
still i will share it now

as face #27

I signed up for Natasha May's Cotton Candy Girls class
This piece is from her first lesson,
the deer is mine,
the girl is very much what Natasha's teaches.

This class might be one of the best priced classes around,
 there are only
TWO more days to sign up.

Dip and Go

it has been a wonderful time creating a face a day for the month of May

I wanted to do something with freer technique this time

meaning
no sketch
simply dip a brush in paint and see what happens

I wanted to do a fast piece, ten minutes
this took much longer
I had to dip that brush in paint over and over again

Pixie Dust

under the spell of pixie dust
they slept
and slept
even the pixie fell under the spell

if it weren't for the roses in her dream
that called to the
butterfly and moth
and the fluttering of their wings
they might have slept forever

Two Faces

charmed
by the wee fairy
juggling spheres of magic berries in her hand
not only did she watch

with her heart she did listen
for tales of once upon a time
spilled forth
with the mesmerizing spinning
and
tossing of each berry as it danced into the air

Gesso to the Rescue

this is a face that i began the end of April
i drew it with inktense pencils and took a brush with gesso to the pencil
to turn it to paint

something that was wonderful:
her eye, the one to the left was seriously wonky
so i covered it with gesso
sketched it new
and i feel better about it

it is a good experience to simply paint over something and give it another go
very freeing

thank you for your visits....

Beings from Another Realm

watching clouds
flying swiftly above the high rocky mountains
i spied beings
veiled
just barely
within the misty forms
so now i do my best
to bring them to life in the form of art

though these are much more than faces
i share these for face number 7, 8 and 9

Spirit is Everlasting

with all her heart and spirit
sensing through the veil of earth life
to the afterlife
feeling the mystery
the vibrancy
experiencing spirit as everlasting
that connections
are indeed transcendent
they are eternal

lines and dots
ethereal manifestation
that is the way of the faery folk
if you look just right
they will come to light
if you move your head
transparent instead

Lady Loves Aqua

i found a pad of hand made paper at a thrift shop
by guess banana paper

the paint made the paper tear....
but i have aqua tape and i began with a patch and was guided to tear bits for added
fun and texture

also used Caran d'A Ache Neopastels
and Neocolor 11 for the first time
Loved them!
