her spirit told her
go slow
in doing so the world became
vital and exquisite
she left a shimmering trail as she wandered through life
for eons people followed
her incandescent paths
they found wonders they never knew
gems amongst wee tiny flowers
bugs that flew
shrooms that grew
go slow
in doing so the world became
vital and exquisite
she left a shimmering trail as she wandered through life
for eons people followed
her incandescent paths
they found wonders they never knew
gems amongst wee tiny flowers
bugs that flew
shrooms that grew
a leisurely pace
reveals treasures

That snail on her head is adorable
ReplyDeleteAnother beauty! I especially like the way you echoed the snail motif in the spiral curls of her hair -- very imaginative, very fun! Sure wouldn't mind a flash of purple bloom like the one you shared here... do you think it's possible anytime soon?
ReplyDeleteShayla,
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of snails being adorable.
Anno,
my guess, you will have a splash of bloom before our woods will, still two feet under (snow) and more to come. I took that shooting star (wildflowers) photo one June. It had just SNOWED and melted within an hour, so those water drops are snow drops not rain. ah.
Oh My goodness!! My favorite so far!!
ReplyDeleteShe is my very very favorite Tammie!!! I love her hair, her lips, her eyes, your words...Everything!
ReplyDeleteI just love this piece!
Smiles and wishing you a wonderful weekend!
A beautiful read! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLovely post, I could really visualize the trail our friendly little snail was leaving.
ReplyDeleteTammie! Are you using pastel or colored pencil? Your drawings are evolving before my very eyes. I like! I like! I love your avatar!

Ladyfi,
thank you for enjoying the poem.
Marlene,
how lovely that you could picture the trail.
Hello Ces!
I used prismacolor pencils on ms. Snail. at this point i have no relationship with pastels.... someday perhaps.
The icicles are hanging off my roof, actually a bunch of them came crashing down today, so dramatic! I did enjoy 3 hot drinks today, coffee, chai and mint tea. Winter pleasures!

Love the idea of "spirit" voices... and your advice- "go slow" is so true- the best treasures ARE revealed then! Your art is something I never tire of seeing and love the snail on her head (go slow...:). Great prompt- have a wonderful week~
ReplyDeletevery nice post and you are one multi-talented gal. I am a big believer in 'spirit voices' and love how the snail is woven into the theme of going slow. Nice echos in your linework as well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful revisiting this gorgeous post and beautiful art and words! Have a beautiful week ahead! thanks for your sparkling words always!!
ReplyDeleteHi Tammie! I ADORE this piece. Those snails are so charming - I love the large one upon her head but also the wee one on your shoulder. This piece is so whimsical and magical. Thanks for sharing her!!! Theresa
ReplyDeleteA snails pace would give you time to soak up the brilliance of life.
ReplyDeleteTammie this is beautiful,I love your colour choice and her luscious lips and beautiful eyes! Love the way you did the hair too, this is a gorgeous piece!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful how you've rendered her hair and eyes. And the necklace gives her beauty a delicateness.
ReplyDeleteI always get the advices of be patience, go slower or enjoy today and forget about tomorrow XD It's not as easy as I think as there many things I wish to pursue. And my footsteps are going quicker everyday and by the time when I look back to my path, I guess I will be missing a lot of wonderful things in my life, even as random as a beautiful cloud in the clear blue sky.
ReplyDeleteThis year, I have to go slower but more firmly in each step. Going slower doesn't mean that I'm forgetting my dream XD
Oh WOW!! A wonderful story, great sketch and the picture of the flower with the water-drop is exquisite!!
ReplyDeletelovely snail wisdom...
ReplyDeletehappy valentines day to you
w/love! xo
Aaahhhh! There's your snail! And not one, but TWO! Oh wow, I've never seen a snail hat before, but that is quite stylish and should be the next rage in Parisian couture, n'est-ce pas? I love this, Tammie! And I had to look closely because I thought her necklace was real! Hooray for snails! :)
ReplyDeleteAh, I am deeply touched by all these wonderful comments and the kinship that I have here in blog land. Thank you all so much!!

Your photos are fantastic, and your paintings are just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love your poem, Tammie. It reminds me (why, I'm not sure) of Alice in Wonderland in her wanderings.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are so delicate too!
..
I beg a pardon from you for not using your prompt. It is working very nicely as I am seeing. I am on the road again and only now have some time for major blogging.
..
I simply love seeing how your creative mind works. To share the bare bones of a piece is to become vulnerable. Wow...thank you, dear Tammie for sharing so transparently. I think you are a wonderful artist.
ReplyDeletethe hair of your drawing reminds me of gustav klimts ornaments, i like that.
