we call to them
in the form of prayer
their spirits lay on top of ours
even permeating
some times it's hard to tell who is who
simply the nature
of how they imbue
us with their answer
we call to them
in the form of prayer

This was an interesting piece that I did for my class at Willowing
the theme was angel
we were to draw and paint the angel
then cut the angel out of the page
create a background on a separate paper
and layer them
adhering them together
I had one heck of a time coming up with a background I liked
This is what the cut out angel looked like:

Tammie, when I read this I had to blink twice! I often pray to angels (talk to them, feel their presence, in general commune with them). Just yesterday I was thinking how amazing it would be to be an angel... And then I read this lovely, beautiful poem and it feels as if I received direct correspondence!
ReplyDeleteLooking at your Etsy site, I hope you add this angel art to it.. I would buy this in second. Please let me know...
(and thank you for your kind visit to my Little Writer blog!)

It is true...as they pass through and around us, they share...or maybe they just remind us of what we already know...

I am printing this up today and if it turns out well I will place it in my store and let you know!
Julie,
Thank you for your lovely message. It is always fun for me to hear how people feel and relate to angels!
Ms. Kiki,

ReplyDeleteHow truly lovely! You did a wonderful job with this. I haven't gotten to the angel part of the class - I am woefully behind (as always). You have captured the angel's love and purity so well. Fantastic! Theresa
ReplyDeleteWhat to say Tammie... I often find angels whispering in my ears..whenever I am praying or walking or just sit with myself.. trust me these voices are so musical and soothing.. I found them here on your page too..

ReplyDeleteLove the idea of angel spirits permeating us! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCute, beautiful angels.
ReplyDeletei like the first sketch more, it is serene yet powerful, i wish u had kept the wings a li'l bigger in the cut-out angel :)
ReplyDelete:) :) I personally love this the most! It's just something what happened to me recently that my prayers are answered in an unexpected way (good way of course XD). If they were to show up themselves in front of us, I guess it would something like what you have visualized in your painting, with all their love and care.
ReplyDeleteExcellent, comforting words and image. Enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteWow Tammie you did a great job with the angel. Love all the detail. How are you getting on with the mermaid? I'm enjoying exploring the different styles of the artists she showcases.
ReplyDeleteI think your art is awesome Tammie. I especially love this one. take care/
