In Her Happy Place

 in her happy place

~

I couldn't get the scanner to get accurate colors with this painting.

A photo did better.

It is in a art journal and I risked it and painted this on a page that I really like the painting on the other side.

Lucky that both pieces survived the wet watercolor layers.

here it is before the painting:

Our autumn has turned snowy!

With zero F this morning!

3 weeks of glorious warm autumn days

and bam, autumn snow!

It is quite beautiful!

I can feel the spirit of hibernation beginning to overtake me.

I kind of like it.

  1. So you have to turn this sweet and deephappyfeeling painting one day so and one day around! :)

What a peaceful mood, the soft light of the moon shining to her in the secret place in the forest with her mushroom-friends.

O you have snow!?!?!?!! Nordic dreams! Last hour I heard in the radio finest norduic folc-music from Finnland. Fits to your art and life!

    1. Yes, a painting on the other side.
Yes, three snowfalls so far. It is slowly melting, but not sure if it will all go away.
Sounds like you enjoyed some lovely music.
Seems my life is in most of my art.... some how.

  2. mmm... my happy space, too! Love the delicate colors here, and the multicolored leaves. (But, 0 degrees? Brrrr!!! That sounds like a serious winter snow -- hope it warms up again soon.)

    1. Thank you for enjoying the details. Yes, zero is cold. Doesn't happen often. But sometimes it can be -17F etc.
It is above freezing now... but the snow is still here.

    1. I once lived near the ocean, there was rarely ever snow. And it would melt away fast.
I enjoy living where seasons are more sincere. Thank you for enjoying!

    1. Snow is fine. A bit surprising this early. But hey, there is no changing it, so I just enjoy it.
Thank you so much for enjoying.

  8. I kind of like hibernation myself! :) Your lady is lovely! I can never get the colours right when I take photos, or even scan. I always try to fix it up in photo software but my art never really looks as it does in real life!

    1. Nice to meet another person who can enjoy hibernation. I know a lot of people that complain. They might have a different genetic makeup.
Yes, replicating our art can be a real challenge. I love it when the scanner does a good job.

  9. I like this autum theme. The background reminds me of city buildings but perhaps they are meant to me something else? Wonderful choice of colors.

    Have a lovely day.

    1. Hi Lissa,
The background can be whatever you deem it to be.
I realized that about it as I was painting it.
For me it was a hint at a forest.

  10. Who is this mysterious lady? Is she on a stage with the beautifully painted flats behind?
You are so good at creating costumes for your people.
    And the lilac full moon!

    1. That is a good question, who is she.
I painted this on the day of our Blue moon, so that inspired the coloring of it.
It was a fun color palette to explore.

      Thank you Sheila.
