hiked to Whale Lake with friends last summer
(there was actually 5 of us, only 2 made it into the painting)
I think it was 12 miles round trip and 100F
I really enjoyed creating this piece
so colorful against my milky gray winter

Delete12 miles?!?! thats insane lol I use to like walking around but cant anymore
ReplyDeletelots to look at and discover in this painting :)
yep, I think it was 12 miles. I can't remember. That is a lot for me in one day and it was UP UP UP and then Down down down.
DeleteON the way down there was bear scat on the trail and it was not there on the way up ;-)
I love the detail on this, Tammie. It's exquisite. And a story is floating around my head. Lucy in the lead.
ReplyDeleteI like that, Lucy in the Lead
DeleteThat sentence is a wonderful start for something.
She is always ahead and stopping to look back and check in on us. Also, are we still going this way? Yep and on she goes.
Thank you for enjoying the details Jeanie.
Love how there is so much gentle roundness, in your art. If that makes any sense. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe trees, the sun, flowers, rocks, leaves, etc.
And the way you can 'shade,' is almost heart-breaking. Because I don't know how to do it. But I am so glad, that you do.
Gently lovely, all....
Your message reads like a poem, to me. Thank you for your lovely thoughts and perception.
DeleteYou have inspired me to see anew.
I walk with him and feel happy and feel a special kind of very big and great aim in the heart! The dog is my dog! Flying with you into a world, which is NOT a dream!
ReplyDeleteFun that you walk with him.
DeleteAnd this dog is your dog.
Always lovely to connect with you Dori.
such a softness to this, the colour, the subject...it's beautiful Tammie. While I am here I wanted to say too that I am so enjoying your Instagram posts of the snow, the scenery, the wildlife....they are stunning.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun hiking! Love to see he has many things to carry and love the pretty dog.
ReplyDeleteI love this Tammie Lee :) Oh, lake fishing...I cannot wait until end of May! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a complex painting, I could spend ages looking. The rocks, the lovely path, the little (fairy?) tree in the foreground and the man with all he is carrying - this is marvellous.
ReplyDeleteA Great piece.
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot
Hiking days will be here soon
Wonderful piece..I am so drawn to the gorgeous florals and nature along the pathway, so beautifully done..and the figure walking onward, brilliant! Sounds like a wonderful time with friends...nice to soak in memories!

Your painting is beautiful Tammie. Roll on Summer.
ReplyDeleteI love how the dog is checking to make sure their human is still following - as they do!
Lovely energy....thank you!
Ruby
I'm enjoying all the details in this wonderful piece! And that pup making sure that his friend is following makes me smile. Really beautiful, all the colors and shapes. Whew, that must have been some hike! Twelve miles in 100F heat? I don't think I could pull that off.
ReplyDeleteHiking with friends is a truly wonderful thing :)
