she always wore a green dress
hoping the leaf color
would beckon ladybugs to her
Remembering a ladybug that I saw last year......
I thought to try painting it from the photo

ReplyDeletedein Mairenkäfer auf dem Blatt hast du wunderschön gemalt und dein Mädchen so verlockend für die Marienkäfer sehr schön dargestellt!
Schönen Tag
Elke
Thank you Elke
DeleteI like her hair and the ladybugs all over her. would ladybugs really come to her and land onto her green dress? it's possible.
ReplyDeletegood painting of the ladybug. from the photo, it's very odd, but I see a dog/puppy face in the photo with the two dots and the large black shape below. & it's in your painting too. I guess it's just me
have a lovely day.
We will have to wear a green dress to find out ;-)
DeleteI see the dog face now too.
Love your stories, and your illustrations are so sweet... That long pink hair, and long green dress are such a fashion statement with those little lady bugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Wanda.
DeletePretty ladybug lady and you did a fabulous job with the photo too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine.
DeleteHi Tammie Lee :) Those are beautiful paintings. I love ladybugs, I believe they bring luck with them. :)
ReplyDeleteFun to think of them bringing good luck. I hardly ever see them here. I do get happy when I see one.
DeleteHaha, I think all ladybird patterns look like dog faces, come to think of it. As it is, this is a fabulous rendition on the 2nd one and love your expression on the first too. now, those are huge bugs on that dress so are those patterns within the fabric or the bugs big or the girl small? Anyway, I love it. Thank you so much, Tammie.
ReplyDeleteThanks for inspiring a chuckle Michael. Those would be huge ladybugs, but so would your ladybird buttons be huge! ;-)
DeleteWhimsy has no rules, at least that is how I see it.
both are great paintings :) would love long red hair like that :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer. Red hair really is a beautiful thing. My mom had red hair, now it is a soft strawberry blonde/white.
DeleteI like her long green dress. Nice job on the painting too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Trina
DeleteThese are both so beautiful - love the bug on the leaf.
ReplyDeleteMy red hair is thanks to my great colorist, haha!
Mary -
Thank you Mary. It was fun to find the ladybug and watch it settle into that leaf.
DeleteFun that you get to have red hair too!
Hi Tammie Lee,
ReplyDeleteI just adore your paintings!
Tammie Lee,
ReplyDeleteThese are terrific paintings. I particularly liked the close-up ladybug.
Blessings

Aren't we lucky that ladybugs are not only cute but friendly. I love the illustration from your photo. Especially the white details on the leaf edge. Wonderfully done!
ReplyDeleteWow! Such a beautiful illustration of the lovely lady in green. The bug and the green leaf are so well done too, in fact I loved the hand drawn version more than the clicked one.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have stumbled on your creative space from Red rose alley, now following! :)
So interesting to see the white markings on your ladybug, which I never really noticed before. Sure enough, looking at images via Google they are apparent on ladybug photos, but seem to be left off of most drawings. Now I wish I had put some on mine!
