little squirrel saw a
ruby necklace
took it for his own
but when the fairy turns him into stone
he might wish he had left it alone
*
a later thought:
The little squirrel is only turned to stone for 3 min, but that might seem like a lifetime to a squirrel. We must remember stones are living beings, so not so bad a punishment once one relaxes into it.

I had a little trouble coming up with a story for this one.

Oh, I can never think of a story on cue! I might have to revisit this one. All I can add is charming!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie, I do understand.
Deletesquirrels can be rather naughty so I can imagine him taking her ruby necklace.. but just for fun.. returning it to her when the day is done...
ReplyDeleteI love the artwork, tammie :)
Yes, they can be naughty. I have been watching the ones in my forest doing all sorts of things and yes taking what they want.
DeleteI love the thought of returning it when the day is done. Another thought, it is only turned to stone for 3 min, but that might seem like a lifetime to a squirrel. We must remember stones are living beings, so not so bad a punishment once one relaxes into it.
I hadn't thought of it like that. the slow wisdom of the stone people has touched you :)
DeleteThe slow wisdom of the stone people. I like that.
Gros bisous 🌸
I have to come see your chipmunk! Thank you for enjoying.
DeleteHallo, dear Tammie, I have the imagination, that you lost your gem and made this charming artwork and nice story with the squirrel. So everyone has to be careful, because you like to change everything into art and tales! :))) Some people know, that I do this with everything surrounding or meeting me :)
ReplyDeleteI like considering your interpretation. Thank you Dori.
DeleteSuch a fun little story, and a lovely painting. Charming!
ReplyDeleteThank you Viola.
DeleteWhat a mischievous little squirrel! Cute drawing!
ReplyDeleteI agree, mischievious! ;-)
DeleteThank you Jennifer.
the squirrel was once a human man that the blond fairy turned into a squirrel to teach him a lesson but he fled from her before she could turn him back. years later, she found him again. by then, the squirrel had lost all his human memory but his urge to steal remained, so the fairy decided to let him stay a squirrel. lame story?
ReplyDeletecute drawing, I like her hairstyle and her dance-like prose.
have a lovely day.
Not a lame story! I truly like it and it seems to have the old world fairy tale flavor to it.
DeleteI have had squirrels on my porch today and if i move anything around they take note and see if they want any part of it.
I left a forest mushroom on the steps yesterday and a squirrel stole it. But actually I left it there for the squirrel.
Thank you for enjoying Lissa.
Ah,I like the idea of Madame le Fae at edged of day
ReplyDeleteleaving a mushroom, and sly as could be,
Little squirrel, curious, carrying that off...
Forgetting the necklace in his haste!
I love that idea. So fun.
