This weeks theme for Scribble picnic: Cabin
I pretty much did a portrait of my home life,
except that it is still seriously winter here.
Last week I saw grizzly bear tracks in our area,
they ended up in the painting of my wee cabin.
(see side bar to see my home)
Thank you for hosting Michael

Hope the footsteps are invited friends coming to your cabin in the woods. The only wildlife in my garden is birds.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoy the way you paint trees.
Thank you for enjoying my trees. I have so much to learn about creating them! I look out the window for ideas.
DeleteNever know who will show up at my door. There have been fox often this winter.
I saw foot steps of bears in the snow this week, often they are hibernating this time of year. surprise!
that is a very lovely landscape. the trees and small flower garden, smoke from the chimney, it's just wonderful. I wouldn't mind living there except the bears will probably keep me at home.
ReplyDeletemaybe you should paint a winter version? I have seen your photos of the bear tracks, isn't it scary to see them? I suppose the bears keeps to themselves.
I will be posting mine tomorrow. have a lovely day.
Hi Lissa,
DeleteThank you for enjoying the details of this piece. It took a surprising amount of time to draw and paint it.
Yes, someday I will paint a winter version. Painting snow is a bit of a mystery to me ;-).
It wasn't scary seeing the tracks, but if I saw a bear and it was acting hostile that would be. Usually they walk or run off if they see a person.
This is a wonderful piece, Tammie and it does "paint a picture" of your life ever so perfectly. I love the gentle spirit about it as well. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Alexandra.
Deletevery magical. makes me smile :) those trees are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteinspiring magic and smiles makes me happy.

ReplyDeletethank you for enjoying it Jeanie.

ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful painting. Stay safe. Grizzly bears are scary.
ReplyDeletethank you.
Deleteso far i have never seen a bear when it is being scary. they usually walk or run off - that is just fine with me ;-)
This is truly delightful, and idyllic scene, and it looks like a wonderful illustration of your actual home - but - grizzly bears???!!!
ReplyDeleteI love all the friendly trees, maybe they are guarding your home, and I see yellow flowers laughing in their protective area. The cabin looks so cosy with the curly smoke from the chimney, lovely and cosy from the fire inside.
This is lovely....illustrative with a touch of whimsical too. Great idea to add the bear tracks. Love it!
ReplyDeleteStill seriously winter?!! I cherish the North and the special aura and light of the North. I see in my imagination Tammie in her sweet home including all seasons in her heart and mind. Beautiful peaceful loving home-portrait! Original Tammie! Nobody like her!
ReplyDeleteSuch great details that you have including those bear tracks and that wonderful sunflower garden. What a lovely place to live and a lovely work of art.
ReplyDeleteTammie, what an idyllic place you've depicted and to see it's pretty much where you live makes it al the more special! Your style here is airy and fun. I love all your little details, including the tree bark and sap and even the sky with its whimsy clouds. Your line work is vry lyrical too. Great contribution to our theme! I could definitely do a picnic there! :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh, and um, about those bear prints (in photo): whaaaaa? That would make me far too scared to venture too far away from the house! Amazing.
Tammie,
ReplyDeleteLooks like my county - the trees, the bears - We have many lakes as well. I love your trees.
Blessings,
