when Eric offered: Sky
as our DC inspiration
first I went far off into the universe
a sky of dancing planets
then sunset
the gold spots are masking fluid
that went bad
it will not rub off
so glad this was not a piece i put a lot of time into
i wanted them to be stars
i suppose i could use white paint on them
but i wanted to share that masking fluid does not always work
i suppose good to test on scrap paper first
because it is spring
a butterfly in flight
in pink morning light

perhaps i will pick up the piece with gold spots and play with it some more.
Deletethank you for the inspiration.
Beautiful paintings, the first one is my fave. I have sometimes had problems to remove masking fluid from some sorts of paper, so know what you mean. Have happy day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI find this enchanting and a worthy DC entry!
ReplyDeleteThese are eye candy to me Tammie! The planetary system, floating globes, stars, golden light, pink butterflies. It does not get any better for me, friend! Lovely. Just lovely...N, x

ReplyDeletegood tip indeed, tammie, although i don't mind them in your piece at all. stars can be golden... ;)))
ReplyDeleteoh, to be dreaming up big skies. that is the thing. n♥
Beautiful....love the colours and the way you've created space!

I love the idea of a sky of dancing planets:) The sky is the limit! Thanks for joining Tammie. - eric
ReplyDeleteOh, the planets, dear Tammie,
ReplyDeletethe planets in the sky. Beautiful!
I can see Jupiter these evenings in the South East arising, surprisingly, orange (first I thought it is Mars) and so near.

Wow three lovely sky paintings. I love them. I also love how accidental things like masking fluid disasters give paintings texture and character. :D I've never been successful with masking fluid actually, but then I suppose masking fluid wouldn't really work on 100 year old paper. I usually use white ink or maybe a white gel pen and more the ink around with a brush before the gel sets.
ReplyDeletelovely suggestions for white, thank you.
Deletei thought this time i would use masking fluid. I hear some of them go bad. This was by Daniel Smith, i wrote and asked them, they have not responded yet.
Love your work! I've had masking fluid mishaps too but mine didn't fit in as well as yours. ♥ Love your colors♥♥♥
ReplyDeletewhat a dance party in your sky, how lovely!

Lovely soft backgrounds. The butterfly looks good against the pink sky.
ReplyDeleteSee, I never would've seen the gold as a problem...to this viewer's eye, they helped represent the magnificent and inherently flawed beauty of our universe and sky.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see what you did with this prompt. I learn so much from all of you. xo
Wonderful comments of your blogger-friends!
