I met a little girl
walking along an autumn forest
her voice some human some fairy
I said:
I think you are part fairy
she replied: I know I am
walking along an autumn forest
her voice some human some fairy
I said:
I think you are part fairy
she replied: I know I am
bits of her words were entirely human and English
others flew away before I could hear them
it was as though they were carried off by butterfly wings
words laced with music, lyrical

ReplyDeletethank you Lisa. This was an actual experience a few days ago. I drove to the North Fork to stay in a friends wee cabin that is off the GRID, no power, phones, computer. The first night i met this young girl and our conversation inspired this drawing.

ReplyDeleteI love this sketch, the poem is very touching too. The pic of the forest is really beautiful. Is this near your home? Your so blessed if it is!
ReplyDeletethe forest is near a place i stayed last week
Deletea wee cabin off the grid at the foothills of the NW entrance of Glacier National Park. A friends cabin.
The poem is a true story, the first night at the cabin i was walking along the forest and met a little girl with her father and that was our conversation. her response surprised me and brought me joy.
That is how the drawing came to life.
I also live with forest, ponds and meadows in a wee cabin, but i have plumbing and electricity and a phone. I love it here.
sweet weekend to you.

And in my forest sometimes i am drunken and speak with some creatures, who are hidden in small holes :)
