You can us norrmal acrylic paints mixed with a fabric painting medium. I use Golden medium GAC-900. After drying you can heat set the paint this makes it permanent and you can launder your fabrics. I hope this helps Tammie. ManonX
Tammie, your stamp is delightful. You managed to put a lot of details on it!
What tools did you use? I have some carving tools and some pink erasers to carve into just sitting and waiting in my art supplies. I best get carving so I can get as good as you!
Sorry I have no experience on printing on fabric.
I really like the freshness of your piece. The girl's expression and whimsical hair spirals, and the colours remind me of spring! Well done!
Such a wonderful bird-stamp! It'll be useable in so many ways. I have painted fabrics with normal acrylic paints, and then ironed it for a really long time. Then in the washingmachine and it all stayed on. But as Manon says: you can also mix your paint with textile medium.
As for working on fabric, I could repeat what others have already said, but I do know there's some products out there that my fabric friends love. I believe more that a couple have recommended the Jacquard brand to me.
Wowness..so beautiful my friend..what a gorgeous piece..so magical and uplifting..I love the energy vibing away..she is fantastic! I love-love your stamp...this enchanting bird is very special and so unique..your magical spirit shines through! Carving is so meaningful and special..and creating your own personalized stamp is wonderfully inspiring..love it!! Hmm..I think you can buy fabric ink and paint...I recall years ago doing something and found products made for that!. Happy Creating kindred!! Hugs
I made a totebag years ago in a cream-colored burlap and stamped flowers along one edge, using a potato 'stamp' and ink. Can't remember the kind of ink/dye it was but it turned out great. I hope I can find that tote somewhere in our stuff (most of it is still in storage at this point, a long way away) ;<(
Tammie Ha, this is another beautiful piece of art. A great idea with the stamps I've never worked with it there yourself. Thanks for pictures again. I wish a wonderful week. A lovingly greet you Christiene.
That's a lovely stamp! Sorry I can't give you suggestions. Would the colorants used to paint silk work, maybe?
ReplyDeletethank you for the suggestion Astera, I will look into the silk paint.

Your stamp alone is a piece of artwork Tammie! I love the whimsical nature of it! It just screams 'story book' creature!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I love your bird stamp. I bought a book a few weeks ago called "making an impression" by Geninne about carving stamps. I want to try it!
ReplyDeleteWow! The stamp you make is so pretty! It's whimsical and stylish. So cool!
ReplyDeleteLoved the sketch and the stamp too, so pretty!

Great stamp, love the way you used it on your lovely painting, so original!
ReplyDeleteYou could try indelible ink, or a thinned down fabric paint. I LOVE this stamp.
