her very nature sprung from the forest floor
inspired by the blooming fungi
though they were the fruit of the underworld
they also seemed like fairy kin
a mix of magic and earth
~
finding mushrooms
is a great joy
they are colorfully creative beings
one of my favorites also to photograph
they can be found in my photography shop

I remember the smell of mushrooms in the forest when I was a child, and my mother's advice, about not even touch them because they could be poisonous. so, for me, mushrooms have a mysterious meaning (besides being the home of the little elves in fairy tales)
ReplyDeleteyou have known photograph them in all their beauty. I congratulate you. and your illustration has the same charm. I like your new header! :)

Patrice A.: yes a new banner, thank you! it is a drawing from a couple of years ago. hair inspired by the Cedar tree (you must look close at the cedar to see it).
Roberto, yes they are mysterious little beings that we have much to learn from and about. some are poisonous, some are not, just like plants.
hello Celine,
yes those are my photographs. I have a nature photography bussiness: www.spirithelpers.net
thank you for enjoying them!

ReplyDeleteThe coloured drawing is beautiful! Love how you added the colour - not necessarily colouring inside the lines. Also love all of the mushrooms, there are so many around in my part of the world right now too - beautiful!

Oh Tammie Lee. This post from your fabulous drawing to those fabulous mushroom photos took me back to my childhood pastime of hunting for mushrooms in the forest near the frog pond. You made me sigh out loud with joy. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWow, what colorful mushrooms, Tammie! -sus
ReplyDeleteAs a great mushroom lover I always enjoy seeing them pop up in your drawing and I agree with Patrice you used the color of late summer.

your photos for sure do justice to these gems of late summer and autumn, stunning in their form and color. i love to see those colors side by side in your drawing, nature's wealth inspired you beautifully, xx
ReplyDeleteTammie Lee I am sitting here squealing with delight! Mushrooms, and magical mushrooms at that! The mushrooms played a very important part in my contribution to this drawing challenge this week. I love how your gal's lips are the colour of the red mushroom, and her little mushroom choker necklace is so delicate. The colour of her eyes match the blue/grey mushroom and the light of the sliver of the moon reflect in the golden mushrooms. What a bouquet. Beautiful work as always! *smiles* Norma, xo
ReplyDeletemushrooms are amazing...in art or real life. They have such an appeal....

Beautiful mushrooms, both in painting and pictures.
ReplyDeleteWish you a nice weekend!
Greetings from Vancouver.
I adore her with your touches of colour and your photos are magical :o)
ReplyDeleteI guess you made the right decision by painting the entire thing, it turned out just right!
ReplyDeleteYour mushroom photos are gorgeous. I love the colours and textures. I wish we had some like these around here to photograph but unfortunately we've only had the "stink mushrooms" growing on our property this year. They look like carrots but omg the smell...very true to it's name.
