Beautiful sentiment and beautiful drawing! Love the shading, the similar lines on her hair and brows and the bee's wings — and the reflections on her eyes...
Don't you just love those little magical moments with nature, when a little sound or quick glimpse of nature's beauty catches your breath, makes you pause and brings tears to your eyes because you are so grateful to be part of it?
One time I was sitting by our dugout thinking about life and waiting for a frog to appear or a duck to land, anything...when suddenly, a red tailed fox slowly snuck by me, less than one metre away. I was so surprised! It was telling me to follow him. I followed him around my acreage for about an hour, playing hide and seek!
It looks like the girl had a similar ah ha moment and is crying tears of honey in celebration!
I'm not a bee lover but this is beautiful. I love the colours you've used and the way you've related her hair and eyebrows to the bees wings.
Your work always makes me feel so calm. I honestly think it may have something to do with how your faces have those big clear eyes and also maybe something to do with the soft, muted colours. It's always a pleasure to browse through your gallery.
