oh, i want to learn how to use watercolors
i love the colors in these zecchi paints from Italy
but i think watercolors have rules
(or not)
i can see that one color must be very dry before another color is added next to it, or they bleed..... a few examples of bleeding in this tiny 4x6 painting
i would love
any suggestions for how to work with watercolors

I also love watercolour's but am pretty useless with them. And yes, they bleed.... I hope someone out there has some tips for you.

You did a fine job with this whimsical watercolor painting! :)
ReplyDeleteOh such fun and lovely painting! I do not have much experiments in watercolors.. but I would like to have one day.. :) but I know you can use a hairdryer inbetween the layers.. but I feel too much impatient.. to wait for the layer to dry.. ;)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say I love your fungi!! =)
ReplyDeleteYour fairie makes me smile. She's lovely and I love the idea of her holding the spider web like a marionette puppet. Spiders are magical . . . I wonder what they think of each other.
ReplyDelete...so cute! I love how she's playing with the spider!
ReplyDeleteYou already have the idea...transparent layers. Let one layer dry before you move to the next. It's doesn't take long. This is fab. You already seem to know what you're doing!
Lovely image! I think you use watercolors beautifully! It is delicate and luminous.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to watch some videos of watercolor painting on Youtube, I hope during the Christmas holiday...
I think you did a great job. But I know what you mean, it's not easy. I think the above suggestion from Anne is really good. There should be loads of tutorials on Youtube.
ReplyDeleteOne is a dream catcher until one releases their dream into the world. Then one becomes a dream come true with the help of fairies and angels who deliver to us the elements or strings that strike a chord within us.
ReplyDeleteit took me a while to master using watercolours- i say master but I' not sure I'm quite there yet! I often mix white acrylic paint in with my watercolours to stop them looking mottely if I'm colouring a large area. but yes you have to let them dry before putting more on top- unless you want the bleed effect of course! this is a pretty little fairy-i love her spotted toadstool!
ReplyDeleteawesome art!!
ReplyDeletei love watercolors...and have dabbled some...but i'm no expert...don't even know enough to give advice. but i do like to play around with them!!
so...i guess...if i were to give advice...keep on playing! =)
