ReplyDeleteVery cool braids. Looking forward to seeing where you take this.
ReplyDeleteI love the landscape sketch! Beautiful!
Very cute sketch. We didn't get snow but it was very chilly and rainy here most of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteBraids are the only reason for regret for having short hair... - thank you for the "muse of possibility"... !
ReplyDeleteThe braids look lovely, and the poem is awesome. Braids do look hard to sketch. Your snow looks beautiful but I am happy it isn't here. We actually have some sun today.
ReplyDeleteI love these. Each lady has something different about her and yet they all look the same. Love the snow scene also.
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo beautiful Tammie! I love the poem also.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely snow! And those braids are great too...

lovely braids and gorgeous spring snow interpretation.
ReplyDeletebrrr, the snow looks beautiful but cold! Your braids are so good!
ReplyDeletewonderful...makes me think 'Amish'. I used to braid my daughters hair like that when she was small.
ReplyDeleteThey remind me of a series of books I read as a child called The Chalet School by Elinor M Brent Dyer. It was set in the Alps.
ReplyDeleteI love this Tammie! I often braid my own hair and I loved the look of each of these heads, put me in a meditative state of mind. Ommmm...
ReplyDeleteAll kidding aside,You have such a talent!
Happy Weekend, G
Those are some beautiful braids full of detail :) The pattern they make is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat spring snow looks amazing, if only the weather was like that here right now!
I really like this one alot. I enjoy coming here to see what you've come up with in your side of the world. You always make me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny! I was just thinking about how hard it is to draw braids while I was walking the dog this evening. You've mastered the technique. They look great. I need a tutorial.
ReplyDeleteLove this piece! Reminds me of a faerie tale illustration. :) More snow? It is so beautiful - but I am more in the mind of flowers and green right now. Theresa :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeletewhat lovely braids, and wow what a winterland too! I must have missed you when I visited everyone who asked about the printer I was so excited about! Sorry! Its an epson stylus P50! :)xx
ReplyDeleteYour braids are wonderful and so is the line quality. I love the contrast of the girl on the left wearing a black shirt - it really adds a lot of interest to your composition!

ReplyDeleteHi Tammie, so lovely to see your sketch with the braided plats. Brings back memories of my hair.
ReplyDeleteDid it seem a jump to draw the back of people. You drew them beautifully!
Thank you so much for your lovely messages.
Lovexx

hello everyone,
ReplyDeletethank you for your lovely and supportive messages. you make me smile from my heart out.
Jenny,
thank you for letting me know about your new printer!
Julie-ann,
thank you for your lovely message.
i didn't even think of this being my first time to draw people from the back, but it was. I wanted to learn how to draw braids and not struggle each time i go to do it. So i sat down and struggled one time, ha. Then I drew a head around the braid and the body followed. On another page I drew two gals, once I saw that I wanted to see a page of gals with braids. I considered drawing something they were looking at, but loved the simplicity of b&w and the mystery of what they might be looking at.
lovely week to you all!
Tammie

ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you this morning--I saw a beautiful little flower in the middle of a great expanse of green.
Somehow its delicate beauty in the middle there, reminded me of you and your forest home.
((hugs)) It is an honor to know you, my dear, talented Friend.
