hello lovely friends
when i made this initial sketch
i had a hard time deciding how to complete it
for the experience I did three versions
the top version is watercolors
the one below is prismacolor pencils and the third (bottom)
piece was done with sumi ink with a watercolor brush
to look within
to listen with heart
brings us present
to the magical arts
~
do you like one more than another?
I would love to hear which one and why.
I ask simply for fun, to get to see through your eyes.
I know we all have different taste,
I would love to broaden my perception through you.

I like all of them but the one that caught my eye the most was your watercolor. It is beautiful and magical. You are a great artist.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful, but I particularly liked the textures of the Prismacolor version
ReplyDeleteAll are SO lovely! I was drawn in by the first one in watercolor, so delicate. But I DO love the luminous blue hair of the second! Theresa
ReplyDeletelovely work Tammie!!! I love the first one...you know me and watercolours!!! wonderful work!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF!!!
Hi Tammie, I really like them all, but I am partial to the first one. I love the soft look of watercolors. Very nice. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeleteWow, I guess I'm going to be "odd man out" here...I like the third one, for it's simple line and it's impact, but it was hard to choose! Very thought provoking. Happy PPF~
ReplyDeleteThey are all good, but I like the watercolour one best, too! Happy PPF, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThis is such a peaceful piece. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Tammie
ReplyDeleteI just discovered you from your comment on Rhonda's (Roban Studio) wonderful result from using the TIC TOCC prompts I create & send.
I honestly like all three but for different reasons. The watercolour looks like a pretty & dreamy illustration of an imaginative story. The second I love because of the vibrant blue hair and then complimenting ground colours. And then the third is beautiful in its use of smooth simple soft lines.
Kat :-)
I love them all for totally different reasons and love seeing them worked in different mediums. Enjoy the weekend, Annette x
ReplyDeleteAll 3 of the artworks are as good as each other! They each present a different mood, guess it's really up to you! Well Done! ;)
ReplyDeleteTammy all three have their charm, but I draws the third says it all with these simple lines, you do not need color ... A hug
ReplyDeleteI was immediatley drawn to the first watercolor version, but love them all. Happy PPF.
ReplyDeleteI'm fond of all three - each in their own way.
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of the B&W line drawing, and feel this version to be the boldest.
I love the dreamlike quality of the center version … and something in that blue hair just sings to me!
And the top version is charming, those less interesting *to me* than the other two ~ probably because I perceive it as most conventional.
:) Merry creating!
I like the prismacolor version, but then, I have a thing for blue hair.
ReplyDeleteNormally, I'd go for color but I think this looks great in just the stark black and white.
ReplyDeletethey are all quite lovely, but I guess if I had to choose I gravitate towards the clean lines of the ink drawing. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post... I enjoy seeing this completed in different ways! I like them all for different reasons... I love the softness of the watercolor, your use of vibrant blue in the colored pencil version (I admire how you frequently make such bold color choices for hair and eyes), and the simplicity of line and form in the ink drawing is absolutely stunning! (Your sumi ink drawings are amazing and I definitely hope we see more!)

hello Friends,
ReplyDeleteSo lovely of you to share your thoughts on the three pieces. It was an interesting experience to do the same piece three different ways. I also like all three for different reasons. I thought perhaps I would learn something about which method I like more, or what suits my style. But really each has it's own gifts and feeling about it.
It is snowing as I write, a slowly unfolding spring in my world.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Tammie

Hi Tammie. You've done beautiful work in all three. Immediately though, the third one was my favorite. Just the simplicity of the black and white coupled with your beautiful style. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI like more than 2. I love the combination of blue and pink, texture
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of the third - it seems to say so much from so little. Beauty does indeed flow :)
ReplyDeletegosh a hard one to choose...but I think I would have to choose your third one too, for it's simplicity and beauty and the contrast of black lines on white page..stunning :)X
ReplyDeleteAhhhh Tammie! These are all so beautiful. But if I have to choose I would choose the black and white. I know I love color but for some reason I like the simplicity of the black and white. But like I said they are all beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteHappy PPF!
I actually love the second one best. Something soft and subtle about it--yet, I do love the first and last, too. LOL
ReplyDeleteOkay--so I like 'em all and am conflicted!
((hugs)) Lovely, magical, beautiful as always, dear Tammie!
Hi Tammie...I like the second...she looks ethereal...maybe she is looking into her crystal ball...watching what is going on here on our blue planet...wondering what to do to help us silly humans...I love it...xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think the second one is my favourite! I think it's because I love the colour blue, it reminds me of skies and oceans :) I think all of these are equally beautiful works of art though!
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but especially the bluish...
ReplyDeleteTammie they are gorgeous. I am first off drawn to the watercolor as I love watercolors, but I like the color of the hair and texture of the color pencil and the line drawing is beautiful in it's simplicity.
ReplyDeleteI like them all, each one has a different 'voice' and they are all lovely. Happy PPF!
ReplyDeletedearest Tammie...
ReplyDeletethe sphere series is beautiful. I am a lover of color, so the first one is my fav, till next week PPF...gerri
They're all special in their own way, but my favorite is the Prisma pencil--she glows!
ReplyDeleteTammie: The watercolor gets my vote. They are very beautiful, but I guess because I find watercolors so difficult ... it's my favorite. You are a very talented girl. LOVE your photographs too. Happy weekend & PPF!
ReplyDeletelike your sphere versions, so interesting.
ReplyDeleteI love the black and white - sends a strong feeling of clarity when I look at it...
ReplyDeletecheers, dana
it's the pencil one for me...it has more texture somehow. they are all beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteI like all three - so different yet so similar.
ReplyDeleteThe watercolour has lovely contrast that I think the 2nd one lacks. I'd probably like it best (love the blues and pink) but the spheres have been lost. No doubt that is partially the scanning but the upper right is too light.
Great way to explore and experiment!
I think all three are beautiful! I don't think I could choose a favorite!
ReplyDeleteI think the blue haired one as it lifts it into the surreal :) Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteIt's really interesting to see the same picture in three different ways. I think i like the 2nd one best as the blues and the white of her robes gives it an ethereal, other-worldly glow which seems somehow approriate as she looks into the sphere.
ReplyDeleteWater colour and Prisma are my two favourites but they are all lovely.
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring!
You know, I would just love to listen to you talk one afternoon. I will be mesmerized.
ReplyDeleteThey´d look really interesting as a series displayed together on a wall.
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely - and I also love the totem in the post above. Just beautiful, and so much atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteI love the color one the best! so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I am soooooo late for PPF!
In general I love the colours of the watercolour, but the prismacolour version has a radiance that the watercolours don't provide, and I love that too.
ReplyDeleteJanice. x
Thanks for sending me the links to your Sphere series. They are lovely. I like that you recreate your art from the same image. I'm usually quick to move on to the next challenge that I don't stop to get the most out of the current one. Thanks for putting that gem of an idea in my brain.
