two posts ago I shared my fairy drawing
often when I get to the part where I choose a hair color
well I love it white
white hair
is something I am exploring
in my art
This is a tiny watercolor
almost 4x6 inches
that I did yesterday
it is made on a piece of Khadi Paper
that wonderful artist and woman
Lynne Hoppe gave me.
I loved working on it!
For the first time I am offering an original painting
for sale

I just love your drawings and paintings! :) The first one so pretty with the blue in the eyes and the star.. and the eyes themselves!!
ReplyDeleteThe last composition.. I agree with you, the white hair makes it good!:)
The first is a goddess, possessing that wonderful celestial calm; the second is far more human in that appraising look ... more capable of mischief, too, I suspect. Love the delicacy of the watercolor; gorgeous shading; gorgeous hair, too!
ReplyDeleteI've sent you a mail.. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Viola,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your loving! You have inspired a smile.
I am having fun with white hair, so far I have three, but I am thinking of doing a number more... for fun, a white hair theme.
Anno,
I love looking at my art fresh through your eyes.
Thank you.
warmth,
Tammie

Interesting composition... I think I like the hair done in white, yet not a concept I would have thought to explore.
ReplyDeleteLove them both but the last one is my favourite. The colours are wonderful and I love the hair left white.
ReplyDeleteI want to go and paint a watercolour now! Lovely :)
ReplyDeleteOh white hair is awesome! You've done an amazing job on these, great design and beautiful coloring in both mediums ^-^

I have never thought about leaving the hair white. That is very pretty. I like the stars on the first girl. And what a sweet poem.
ReplyDeleteShe is lovely, Tammie. Love how you did her hair - it really makes her face stand out even more. Nice job. :)
ReplyDeleteI love, love your use of whitespace in these. I especially love the pattern added to the hair in the top one. Very creative. :-)
ReplyDeleteI find white such a challenge in watercolour - it rarely shows up for me. You did a beautiful and effective job with their white hair, Tammie!.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
I love your poem and the star pattern in the girl's hair!
ReplyDeleteI love the stars in her hair Tammie. Both sketches are very pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow! These are wonderful... Love the star hair and her face. She is so enchanting and magical. The second one might be my favorite of yours ... Ever. There is something so unique and mysterious and stark about her... Raw in a way... Can't explain it but that is part of what makes her great. Love her. You are on a roll!
ReplyDeletelovely usage of white, love the stars
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking! I love the stars in her hair. And yes, I love white hair except on my head. The soft shading and rendering of her beautiful face is great against the "flatness" of her starry hair!
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful, so ethereal! :-)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I agree - the white looks just right :)
ReplyDeleteYour words are as beautiful as your art.
ReplyDeletegorgeous drawings and paintings. The white hair really works well.
ReplyDeleteBoth pieces are gorgeous, Tammie. I really like the white hair - there is something ethereal about it. :) Congrats on offering your first original for sale! Theresa
ReplyDeleteHave you looked back to see how far you've come?! You've developed a style that fits your poetry so well.
ReplyDeleteSo cite! Love tha hair on the first one.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOOO...the second is my absolute favorite. I love the looseness of the paint and her coloring. In the first, I really like the star patterned details in her hair.
ReplyDeleteI agree with another commenter that your style fits so nicely with your poetry.

Ohh I'm such a sucker for anything with stars XD XD And I love those blue stars on her silky white hair!! She would be like a fairy if she's a real person :D :D

I love how you used white hair! I HAVE to try this, you just do it so well, she's beautiful! Your little painting is adorable too!
ReplyDeleteHope you are seeing more and more signs of spring there, I bet it is just beautiful to watch it unfold after such a cold winter!
Missed your gentle beautiful influence in my weekend; I do look forward to sharing all of your wonderfully soothing and creative art and poetry.

Love the stary hair, so dreamy!
ReplyDeleteSuch peaceful and loving faces.
Lovely, your little painting... + thanks for your kind note at Gerdiary...
ReplyDeleteOH! Tammie! I love the faces you draw. I like the white hair, too. You would not know that since I was a little girl, I've wanted silver hair to my knees.
ReplyDeleteIt's not silver yet--though I see touches here and there--and it isn't to my knees yet, either. It's waist-length. lol
Your drawings are so lovely. I think I would recognize your artwork anywhere. ((hugs)) It is lovely.
Your lady in white is gorgeous. More and more in your illustrations I'm seeing a children's book - a modern-day fairy story on thick, quality paper.
ReplyDeleteI love this picture with the stars in her hair!
